    Default Windows 7 & Teracom incompatiblity Isuue

    Hi friends,

    For past two i was not able to connect to internet because of the following error "Lan doesnt have valid ip configration" ...But my laptop running in xp connects smoothly through wifi..Problem is only with my windows 7 and router..i set my static ip(192.168.1.25) and default gateway(192.168.1.1) to access modem ,but that too failed to open ..FYI this is the 4th time i am reinstalling my windows 7 to get rid of this issue..please guide me to connect to my internet in windows 7 (i am not interested switching to XP )

    Modem model : tercom T2-b gawv 1.4u10y b1
    os : windows 7

    (a)No changes in wifi router If with XP you could work in wifi mode.
    (b)Backup settings to say C:/My documents/wifi working.
    (c)RESET to factory settings, if needed & unable to access 192.168.1.1

    In laptop Windows 7 OS
    2.try to duplicate same ipconfig (as for XP)

    3.
    Try : enable dhcp in modem/router say range 192.`168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10
    In tcp/ip obtain ip address automatically.
    4.
    If laptop has ethernet card try LAN mode.
    5.
    Check wlan card properties. check whether enabled etc.

    the problem with windoes 7 is ,its not able to communicate with modem and get ip ..i then unplugged dsl wire and plugged in again then reconnected again which successfully assigned new ip to windows 7..now its working..dont know how to prevent this in future..
