Check yourselves. List of all plans and tariff from BSNL
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.
thnx 4 the link but the link is not working.
Working fine for me.
Go to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.- India's No. 1 Telecommunications Company > Services > Broadband > Tariff
It is BB Home Rural Combo ULD 500. You can get it only if you stay in a rural area.
Try this link
http://bsnl.in/service/new_BB/Rural_USOF_BB.htm
for some reason was able to view the site through proxy site only.
btw thnx 4 the links.
Always welcome
You can open such sites using Opera Turbo. Or change your DNS to 208.67.222.222 and 8.8.8.8.
Did you got the plan of your choice ? You can check with the local exchange about rural plans. If you are still looking for a suitable plan, mention
1. What should be the plan speed ?
2. How much data do you download/upload per month ?
3. Do you need day time browsing heavily ?
i had applied for a landline and net connection on october 30th.i received landline connection after 2 weeks but haven't received a net connection yet.
while applying they said the net connection will be given within 3-5 days.after a week they said some upgrading process is going so it will now take 10 more days.after that i am calling them everyday sometimes they dont attend the phone, when they do,they assure they will send someone next day ,and same reply has been continuing for last 15-20 days.
tried containing nodal officer too,he too gives the same answer .
since i am staying in rural area, there is no other net provider.
i would like a unlimited plan for day surfing and downloading game,it will do even is speed is 256 kbps around 500rs.
once again thnx 4 the response .
Always welcome
If possible, try a visit to the exchange. That may help sometimes.
You can choose either
UL 499 - 256 Kbps unlimited - Rs. 499 + tax - Telephone rent extra - No free calls
UL 625 Combo - 256 Kbps unlimited - 100 free calls - No telephone rent - 625 + tax
If your phone bill is Rs. 180, you can choose UL 625 combo.
isnt the BB Home Rural Combo ULD 500 plan in the link u posted better than ul 500,as it gives speed of 512 kbps upto 6 gb and also 100 free calls in 500rs.
Rural plans are certainly better. Check whether you can get that plan. I tried once. They said that they cannot find the option in their software. Check with your exchange.
thnx....with the service of bsnl here, it wont be surprising if i also get the same reply.
hope i would receive net connection next week.
atlast today i got the net connection but am unable to connect
its showing error 651,also the first four lights in modem is on?
tried calling bsnl but they they are not attending any calls?
any suggestions ?
Congrats. Which plan ?
Please mention
1. Modem - model and make
2. How do you connect ? PPPoE or Bridge ?
In PPPoE mode, your ID and password is entered in your modem and you can connect to net, by simply switching ON the modem. It takes about 2 minutes to establish the connection. You need to wait till that.
Bridge mode is also known as dialer mode. Your ID and password is entered in dialer and you need to click on " Connect " to dial and connect to internet.
Also try
Error 651 with PPPoE connections in Windows 7 | Windows Reference
error 651 - Google Search
thnx once again 4 the help.
the bsnl guy who came just connected the cable and went.
i had to read the manual to get net connected .
somehow am able to get connected ,but without dialing ,connection is on all the time, not able to end connection either .
Me too on PPPoE or Always ON. It is a good set up. Allows you to connect more than one system at home. In PPPoE you can use wifi on your mobile or phone independently. ie, no need to switch ON your PC.
You can disconnect by simply switching off your modem.
Mention the modem's model and make.
my modem name is iti type 1 adsl2+cpe/router.
dont think its wireless .
is there a way to make bsnl give the rural plan?
Still I will say PPPoE is better. When you use PPPoE, connections to your PC ends at router. It acts as a hardware firewall.
Bridge mode too has benefits. Especially if you are planning to download from one click hosting sites like Rapidshare. You can simply switch to bridge mode by " edit " setting of 0_35 entry in WAN page.
Only way is to check with BSNL office. When I tried, I even talked to the Cheif account officer without success. Do let us know if it works for you.

The main advantage of bridge mode is that all ports are open. It is, in another perspective a draw back. An external connection comes up to the PC, but in PPPoE it ends at router.
However if you want to download files from one click hostings like Rapidshare, you need to change your IP. For this purpose, you need to reboot the modem. It is easy if you use bridge mode. There are tools like cryptload or Jdownloader which automatically reboot your modem (if you give the dialer details).
Also since all ports are open, you need not worry about port forwarding of torrents.
thnx once again.
how to check the plan activated and mb left?
