    Unhappy AN1020-21 modem dialer issue

    Hi,
My modem is in "always on" mode and is working fine. I want to switch to "Manually Connect" mode and use a dialer, which i tried but did not work.

I am using Windows 7. I installed the dialer software that came with the modem. On dialing it, gave the error 619:A connection to the remote computer could not be established...
    Any help will be welcome.

    .http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post283205 (Teracom: essbebe's compilation)

If you can access the modem settings,
Go to Management and BACKUP present settings to
say C:/My Documents/ Modem on always on OK

    Step 2 :

In WAN page select link 0_35 and click edit
    Next page
    Uncheck Box PPP/PPPoE
    Check box "Bridged"
    SAVE REBOOT
    wait for 2 minutes.

    STEP3:
Now use your dialer and enter UserID and PW

    Feedback.

    1. Log in to the modem.

    2. Select the entry with 0_35.

    3. Click the " edit " button. You will find an option to change between PPPoE and Bridge. Select " Bridge ".

    4. Create a dialer, enter ID and password.

Question Bridged option greyed out (disabled)

    Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me essbebe and meetdilip.

After i click edit option to go to next page, i find that the option Encapsulation Mode is greyed out / disabled.

So i could not change the option to bridge mode.

    1. Post a screen shot.

    2. Try creating a dialer and check whether you can connect to net.

I have seen the link that you have posted. All the settings are exactly as depicted except "Bridged" option, which is greyed out in my case.

Screenshots of my settings pages an order

    imgur.com/G0isU.jpg (page 1)
imgur.com/5xdrJ.jpg (page 2 after clicking edit on line 1)
imgur.com/IeSiY.jpg (page 3 after clicking next, note that bridge option is greyed out)

    Add h**p:// before the urls

When i try to create a new connection I get this page

    imgur.com/DZoFR.jpg

Bridged option is available only when i choose RFC2684 (IPv4) or RFC2684 (IPv6).

Needless to say this is only available if creating a new connection; not on editing existing connection.

What is the Ip address you used ?
    Backup Existing settings under management to say ;
C:/My documents/ modem working always on mode.
Any changes made to modem settings is anew connection .

    now try for "bridging" mode.
    SAVE reboot.
    Try your dialer.
