    Question Any changes

    Hi,

Now i am using 500c broadband plan.

    Speed= Upto 2Mbps
    Free Usage= 1.5GB
    Free calls= 175
    Night Unlimited= 2 AM to 8 AM
No landline rents because its Combo.

But i am thinking to change my BB plan to BB "Home Combo UL 625 ".

    Speed = 256Kbps
    Free usage= Unlimited
    Free calls = 100
    No landline Rent.

My question is which is better:
Is speed 256Kbps is slow ? When compare to Upto 2Mbps. In 500c they wont mention fixed speed, but in UL 625 they mention 256Kbps .

Yes, it is very slow compared to Home 500 C.

    256 Kbps = 32 KBps

    2 Mbps = 246 KBps

Go to speedtest.net, perform a speed test and post the " Forum code " here.

Ok. I am posting it for you. Hope someone using UL 499 or UL 625 Combo will post their result

The speed you are getting is very slow for Home 500 plan. You will get around 25 - 30 KBps in UL 625 Combo.

The point is, UL 625 will be very very much slower than Home 500 which gives around 150 - 180 KBps.

    My speedtest.net result

In UL 625 Combo, you will get half of this speed. I am getting 60 - 70 KBps on good server.

    1. Try any download from Microsoft and report the speed here.

    2. Post your SNR and attenuation values.

Thanks for the information. After about 3 years and with more than 9000 posts
in this forum ( also another Indian BB forum ), I did not know this rule here !

Now i am using 500c broadband plan.
    Speed= Upto 2Mbps
    Free Usage= 1.5GB

the speed test shows you are getting approx 1 Mbps = 128KB/sec speed.
Means 1MB file will be downloaded in approx 8 to 10 seconds.

When you change to a lower speed plan say upto 256 Kbps = 32KB/sec (max)
the same 1MB file will need approx 30 to 40 seconds.
( * all calculations approx subject to various line conditions/browser used/download manager used /website/ server accessed etc )

You can confirm by repeating a speed test at
    http://speed.tn.airtelbroadband.in/

    Para two:
Any screenshot you have to save to your harddisk say at
    C:/My pictures/modem adsl data.jpg
You have uploaded it at an external web site.
    to upload here as Annexure
    procedure was given.
    Or
Click the Yellow ( Postcard type ) Icon here in this message box
and enter the link address. you can delete the existing http://
then the screen shot is incorportated in the message body itself.
Not recommended as many users are on limited data plan
    Use with discretion.

    3.
    Changing mod mode in modem.
Your adsl data shows mod mode selected is Adsl2 +
This can be un checked in menu item DSL in your modem.
Then recheck snr attn data for any improvement .

Ask the line man to check your line. Tell him to remove joints and non insulated parts. Follow this guide

Also download any file from Microsoft and report the speed here. Microsoft has got best of the servers, so it is a standard to check the speed.

The speed you are getting is very slow for Home 500 plan. You will get around 25 - 30 KBps in UL 625 Combo.

I submit request letter to BSNL office to change my BB plan today. Today only they changed to UL 625.

I will tell you guys one thing , BB Home UL 625 is good.
    At present i get

this much of speed(in peak hour), when compare to 500C its not more difference , funny thing is upload speed is more compare to 500C upload speed. No effect will occur in browsing(In multiple tab also). Downloading also will not affect because i use Premium accounts to download i get max 32Kbps (Now checked, at posting time its getting that speed). Happy thing is no risk to wake in night and also not need to check usage daily. .

Again changed my plan to 600 Combo,

    now getting speed

Cool, plan is better than 500 combo
because you get 75 calls more than 500c, 1Gb free usage more and also 50p after free usage . But in 500 c its 60p.
