    Unhappy broadband closure/shutdown issue

i went to my city's bsnl exchange and hand over them an application demanding the closure of broadband facility (only BB not the basic ph). this happened on 6th dec 2010.

that time, the person sitting on that bench, entered the details of my application and in return his system replied tat this telephone no. has no broadband facility.

i was shocked to look at it myself. he too was shocked, as i handed over the photocopy of the bills of yr 2008 (wen i took bb conn) and also the last paid bill's copy.

he told me to visit again on 8th dec as expert will sit on this bench and he is on leave. some how i couldnt go on this date.

today, i had visit there & enquired about the status of my application. (expert was sitting there, this time) he told me tat the order of closure has been placed on 7th dec (next day of the submission of appl).

i told him tat my net is still running. he told me tat it will be shut down in a day or 2.
feeling unsatisfied, i reached to the desk of officer incharge (CCE), he told me tat we disconnect the subscription at the end of the month to avoid any error in billing.

plz guys help me in this. wat should i do now..??? have any1 had experience of closure of their broadband...???? if so then wen it was terminated...????

NOTE: status in my portal id says tat my broadband is still provisioned.

You don't know, and you won't know until it gets done. You won't know for sure until it disappears from your bill. Be patient until you get your next bill!

    dataone.in===>> 59.xx log in
117.xx=== go to snacharnet log in page.http://mail.bsnl.in/do/dologin
send a test message from some other email ID.

Better talk to JTO ( BB ) of your exchange.

Make a complaint Online All INDIA quoting ack number given for your application.

im able to login to my webmail account given by bsnl
Sometimes they give a grace period of a week or so,
and then deactivate your email acct.
BB still active is confirmed by you ,other wise.

Did you surrender the modem if on rent or mention ,
that you had purchased it outright? got a receipt ?
If on rent you have an option to buy the modem
less 50% of rent paid so far. FAQ45 BSNL Tariff web site.

Check the orders page. I think they will future date it just like plan change. Call the office where you gave the application and confirm they have forwarded the request to Bangalore.

mickeyandaamir, best advice is not to worry at all until or unless you find you have something to worry about. So long as there is no charge on the bill for the month after the month of closure, that will be the end of your BSNL broadband story.

Until then: assume you do not have a problem!

i want to ask one more thing....
when i tok broadband 2.5yrs ago, i submitted Rs.500 as security deposit (advance rental of braodband) and since then its all in advance.

so my question is... literally i paid for broadband's dec. rent in advance and the bill which i'll get Jan 2011, will show Rs.500 as rent of Dec 2010 or bsnl will refund me resulting in billing amount to be zero (i dont use basic phone beyond 175 free calls)...???

for 500 plans no advance rent/(security) is collected.
    http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/new_BB...dalone_lim.htm
This amount probably as Security deposit for std/isd calls. confirm from first bill.
For modem also no security deposit since you have purchased it.

earlier the security deposit was collected (i.e 2.5 yrs back), but now they have levied all security deposits. and i was not returned this security deposit during my subscription period. also, my basic phone is 22 yrs old connection so security deposit for basic is already paid at that time.

so will bsnl refund the security deposit...........???????

will bsnl refund the security deposit..
Doubtful, whether BSNL has records about/for 22 years back !
Change over from Govt Dept To PSU computerisation etc.
I think , at that time heavy deposit amount was required for OYT/ special quota etc for a telephone connection.
and some yearly interest was credited in telephone bills.

Possibility of Unlimited L/L local/std calls for a FIXED monthly payment by BSNL is not far off . ( as in U.S)ror get free calls, when using BB or IPTV etc.
Now itself 250 telephone calls are free in some plans.

We pay fixed $25 PM for unlimited vonageVOIP unit/service to/from U.S

    2. The recent deposit for BB connection will be adjusted in future bills. Give an application, and get an ack.
