Thread: how to protect wifi

I have a BSNL BB 512 Kbps connection and recently discovered that wifi was accessible. Help me in protecting my wifi connection without affecting the normal wired connection

1. Please mention, modem - model and make.

In the wireless settings page, you will find an option to encrypt your connection. Simply select the encryption and give the pass key.

To log in to " wireless " page,

1. Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser.

2. ID and password is admin.

3. Check the LHS menu, you will find an option to go to " wireless " page.

If your wifi router is different mention model/make/number.

Make sure that password to access the router must be strong one otherwise whatever password you set for your WiFi connection, one can see it as router is having option to display the WiFi password (WPA Pre-Shared Key) in plain text.
