    Default slow uploading speed

i'm new to this forum and even don't know much about BB

well my problem is that i'm getting slow upload speed (my local friends and others are getting good ul speed and they have same plan)

i have complaint many a times and they always asked me to check tracert and but still in pain

then i started searched over net and found this forum . i hope that i'll get some help over here

my plan is 750 ul (512 kbps)

earlier i was in mpasr where the speed was fine but net got disconnected after very 15 min and then they have changed my server to bbasr where i'm not facing the disconnection problem but facing the speed problem

Edit : does upload speed affected while downloading?
also my upload got disconnected if i do browsing/surfing while uploading any file

    Welcome to IBF.

    1. Please mention , modem - model and make

    2. Go to speedtest.net, perform a speed test and post the " Fourm Link " here.

    3. Post your SNR and attenuation values.

    4. Me too on UL 750. What is the upload speed you are getting ? and your friends ?

    5. Disable firewall and check.

Are you talking about torrents ? What do you mean by uploading disconnected ?

Did you try uploading to a file sharing host ?

    4. em getting an average of 30 KB on few file sharing sites and my frds are getting 60+ KB (mine server is bbasr and their is mpasr)\even for some filesharing site like 4sha** or hot**** my download is 30 - 38 KB there is only a rare day when i got 55 KB dl speed from these sites

    5. already tried even on lappy and desktop (both) but nth happened!

What do you mean by uploading disconnected
it means while uploading any file on any file sharing site , if i'll do surfing/browsing side by side then uploading stopped and got freeze and have to start it again or some site says uploading failed etc

even if i'm downloading somthing along with uploading then uploading transfer rate goes slow down to 25 .. 24 .. 23 KB

Which mode do you use ? Change to Bridge and check.

I am getting 60 -70 KBps download speed and 40 KBps (while seeding more than one torrent) upload speed. Anything around 25 is a good upload speed in this plan.

Bypass the splitter, connect the line directly to the modem and check.

Are you using Comodo firewall ? I had a similar issue. Uninstall both Antivirus and firewall. Check the result.

Normally download speed will not affect uploading. Try using upload managers provided by the file sharing sites.

Check ethernet driver. Reinstall if possible.

If nothing works, reset the modem and try reconfigure it.

In that case, there is nothing more we can do from here. Try talking to Nodal officer or appellate authority. ID and phone no. on the backside of your bill.

    @ginny
    ADSL means Asynchronous DSL
Upload will be less than download speed.usually 1 :4 ratio.
Check the RATE in your adsl modem.
If you need better Upload speed try a 2 Mbps connection.
Just now my Home 750 U/L plan( new upto 2 Mbps) )
    wait .....

Downloading Speed: 713 kbps (89.1 KB/sec Transfer rate)

Bit rate: 301 kbps (37.6 KB/sec Transfer rate)
To give you an idea of the discrepancies between the download speed and the
upload speed take a look at the rated speeds for both cable
    and ADSL broadband Internet connections:

    * Cable Modem Download Speed: 1.5 Mbps - 3.0 Mbps
    * Cable Modem Upload Speed: 400 Kbps - 600 Kbps
    * ADSL Download Speed: 1.4 Mbps
    * ADSL Upload Speed: 400 Kbps

    * Due to the fact that the majority of Internet users are downloading data,
heavy user loads can cause the aforementioned download speeds to
be significantly slower while the upload speeds tend to remain the same.
This speed test site gives equal values ( approx ) sometimes erratic data.

I have given results from 4 different speed test sites, and you could see the variation.
For torrents the speed will be still less.
Y^ou may try different mod modes in your modem.
For a high speed connection Annex M can be enabled.
If your speed is 256 Kbps max imum you can expect either way
    32KB/sec ( ideal conditions)
If you get 512 Kbps speed may get 64 KB/sec. ( ideal no loss server/line/modem/system etc
and contention Ratio of 1 :25 for bsnl users
rarely all users will be on line /same server ) > )

    You can try
    tcp/ip optimizer from speed guide.net
Select speed slider set it at nearest value for 256 Kbps.
    Select optimal values.
    Recheck. No dramatic improvement expected.
As you can see Upload speed is same, though D/L speed shows variation.
All these tests are taken, for system check, and same speed will not be available all the time from different servers.
U.K speed test site stores you data for previous tests also. and also in graphical form.

Default Low Uplink speed inspite of having a 4 MBPS connection

    Hi Friends,

I have a 4 MBPS Airtel Broadband connection. I get a low uplink speed and it is so low that I am unable to host webex meetings for my work.

Interestingly, I get 2 different results based on testing the speed in 2 different sites.

In Speedtest dot net site, I get
    Download speed = 4.3 MBPS
    Upload speed = 0.77 MBPS
    Ping = 84 ms
    Mumbai server

In speed dot airtelbroadband dot in, I get
    Download speed = 4.3 MBPS
    Upload speed = 68.5 KBPS

As you can see, the upload speed detected is very different on the 2 speed sites - 770kbps and 68 kbps.

Can you please let me know which is the correct one and how the upload speed can be improved?

Would greatly appreciate any help in this regard
    Vijay
