Default Problem with dlink 802c modem

    Hello everyone!

I recently purchased a dlink 802c modem as my previous modem stopped working. I currently use the 1350 plan on bsnl. But ever since i started using this new modem i've got a peculiar problem. Since i am not tech savvy, i have absolutely no idea on how to resolve this. The problem goes something like this.

I can browse all websites using firefoz without any issues. but when it comes to using a torrent client like vuze or utorrent, my internet connection goes down completely. The clent doesnt work and while the clients are running, none of the websites load (it states the cannot connect to server message). i dont quite understand what seems to be the problem because as soon as i close the cleints, browsing starts to work..

    Please help me!!

    Check settings for utorrent here.
    Also option portforwarding.
PortForward.com - Port Forwarding Utorrent on the Dlink GLB-802C
What is the firewall application in use ?

Thanks for the swift reply. I dont use any firewall other than the default windows firewall for which there is already an exception. I did try the port forwarding guide but on the add nat rule page, there is no entry called RDR. so yea, im stuck here

    1. Do you see a green tick at the bottom of the utorrent or a yellow - orange triangle ?

    2. Which mode do you use ? Try bridge mode and check.

    3. Select a torrent with enough seeds. Use private trackers.

    4. Try reinstalling the torrent client.

    5. If nothing works, reset the modem to factory settings and reconfigure it.

It is green in the utorrent screen. And in bridge mode it works great. Only pppoe mode seems to be the problem. And ive done everything you've mentioned, but to no avail.

Change the MTU to 1452 and check.

    .
In "Bridged" mode all ports are open and also to Malware/spyware trojans etc.
In PPP/PPPoE mode for torrents PF always recommended.
If you post the screen shot of the modem
    NAT Port triggering pages
as Annexure here, may be @meetdilip can
    help.

For your system the Ip to be forwarded is the address shown here.
    ipconfig /all ( say 192.168.1.4 )
