Default Problem with Broadband Downloading Speed

Please help me with this if you can.
    I got an
    WA1003A broadband Connection
    Speed:54.0Mbps
But when i download anything the downloading speed reduces to 30.0Kbps.
So is this normal or my speed is exceptionally slow. Please help!!!
Hope to hear from you all soon.

are u sure ur connection speed is 54.2 mbps........check u r connection speed and rewrite the question again

by the way divide the connection speed by 8 and the speed u get will be ur downloading speed ...but in that speed u can give 8.9% error on negative side as distance from exchange

u seem to be little confused ,

look if the your downloading speed is 30kbps then u r connection speed is between 256kbps or 512kbps .....if u live in india or even i dont thinks anywhere in the world they give these type of speed ( 54.2mbps) ......

look confirm the speed if ur speed is 256kbps then the downloadig speed is great its ok ......256/8 speed should be around 28kbps and if u have 512kbps then speed is suerly less then it should be around 512/8 i.e 64kbps ......

tell us which connection u got whare are u from and who is u r service provider then we can come to any conclusion ....what problem u got (if any)

When we move the mouse cursor over the blinking computer icon on the lower right side of the screen it says Speed :54.0Mbps.
I live in India(Bhopal).I got an Huawei WA1003A modem. And i got an friend living here and Europe having 100Mbps speed.I got this plan from BSNL.
If you can suggest any other method to check the speed so please tell me.

    ok fine ,

here it is u got bsnl in bhopal that means u got either 256kbps or 2mbps speed .......that means ur download should be minimum 225kbps in 2mbps or around 28 kbps in 256kbps ............

confirm u r plan form u r service provider call at their toll free number .........then try to download from any fast server and if u got to know u r speed then try to test speed from testing server do it from bsnl server if u like .....try from Speakeasy - Speed Test and check ur speed.....then try to to download from downloading server like rapidshare.com if speed does not increase then contact u r service provider may be congestion problem they will ratify it............

tell us how much speed u got from speed test server

ok here u are . u have 256kbps connection form bsnl and if u are getting 30 kbps as a download speed. then u are lucky as u are getting good downloading speed. technically u should get around 28 kbps....with this speed u can download 100 mb file in 65min .....according to u r plan ................. may be u have night unlimited that is why 256kbps if not then contact ur exchange and ask when thay can give 2mbps ...they are already upgrading their connection speed for volume based users...................enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
