Are you facing any similar downtime during day time usage ? Post your current SNR and attenuation values.

If only at night time, there won't be much we can do.

Ask the line man to check the cable and remove joints and non insulated parts.

Any changes in attenuation and SNR values ? Did you checked the line ? Made it better ?

If nothing works, take a screen shot of your modem menu page and visit SDE.

Try talking to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. ID and password behind your bill. Did you try talking to SDE ? A visit in person can do magic with BSNL.

ask the SDE to replace the wire for prevent joints and if necessary request for a cable pair change and/ or port change.
Also check whether you have additional phone / cordless on the phone line , that too before the splitter. and check for loose connections and contaminated line cords. i saw few cases that after checking and replacing the contaminated line cords, the internet improved.
if you live close to places where chemical fumes like the bath room cleaning or close to kitchen etc are likely, these contacts get bad. replace those wires.

Default BSNL will not work in Night - The Reason is !

HI friends: i am from Chengalpattu - I have the same problem, which is discussed here.

The BSNL Broadband line will not work in the evening till next day morning, i have the same problem for more than 1 1/2 , months.

The reason is the BSNL cable have numerous cuts and joints, i have noted the clear reason when the street lights are on at 6.00pm the Broadband will fail and whenever the Street Light are Off the Broadband connects automatically with high speed. The Sodium lights in the Street affects the BSNL non insulated Cables. BSNL (linemen & officials) will keep the Cables open and without proper insulation only. You cant advice or ask them. They have their own Union , then they will go in strike. Which means you will not get Broadband working even in the day time too.

I am constantly making complaints with the BSNL Customer Care, but no one will turn up with a solution. I will get a call from the BSNL Customer care, they will ask me if my Broadband is working. I will say "No". Then they will say, Ok sir Someone from BSNL will visit you in next 48 hrs. But No one will turn up, and your Complaint will be automatically closed. Then you have to again make a new complaint. Like this i am waiting for the last one and a half month.

    My SNR value is 3 & 4 or 4 & 5

What does SNR value indicate? What should be the ideal SNR values?
