Thread: Sharing Broadband Connection?

There is a ground and 1st floor in my house, the main line along with the splitter is in the 1st floor, from the splitter ADSL(Net) goes to the 1st floor and Phone goes to ground floor, as per our requirement,

Now I have another PC in the 1st floor in another room, I cannot use WiFi as I don't have any WiFi equipment, but I have 2 ADSL routers and the room in which the connection is needed has the required wiring(telephone wiring),

How to I setup the connection and when both routers in both rooms are ON will the net work?

In Wi-Fi u can use but range is 100 meter without any obstraction and if u have ADSL2+ TYPE 2 (where 4 LAN connection u can provide) one u can give to ur connection and another u can extend in another room ( U can purchase long Ethernet cable from maket)

Please mention, modems - model and make.

You cannot use two routers to same connection simultaneously. Instead you can use a modem with more than one LAN ports. The telephone line goes into the first PC and then an ethernet cable from another LAN port of same modem can be assigned for the second PC.

Or simply buy a wifi USB adapter ( a friend of mine got one from Asus for Rs. 900) and use the wifi to connect to the second PC.
