I think long back you have used dna a211-I for Reliance.
    same procedure for this model.

Please see signature link given below "TERACOM" also.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post307396 (Teracom: essbebe's compilation)

All models based on c2110 ( less wifi ) modem.
Only model numbers are different with slight variations.

    Fedback please.

    Hey essbebe,

yes it was me, i'm actually amazed that u still remember that bravo for ur memory.. i'm kinda lost now i had Nokia Siemens modem + router bt it gave serious wifi network issues so i replaced it with this one as it was under warranty, now i wanna use it with reliance broadband NOT bsnl.. i wanted to contact u bt u have now disabled private msg.. is dere anyway i can talk to ya in chat or sumthing.. i'm nt sure if this modem will work with reliance as it dont have mac settings.. and wifi seems messed up too according to all forums.. will i be able to use wifi in multiple devices at same time? if this is not gonna work i'll have to go give it back and get my old nokia modem

i really appreciate time u take out to help all..

    Thanks

VMC AN1020-21 is based. on siemens c 2110 + wifi.
    Go through the link/s .\
If you have an ADSL telephone line based Internet connection from
RELIANCE, should work with same settings for BSNL as VPI/VCI is also same 0 and 35.
If you have a Wimax connection ( Innomedia unit )
doubtful. Only one system may work at a time.

I have the worst memory, and just checked your profile and previous posts. This helps in finding out , the level at which replies can be given, and gives an idea about the user's interests.

this modem will(it) work with reliance as it dont have mac settings.
Have to verify the screen shots. But I think white list for MAC available.
    Sample Page: [@meetdilip] mac seen

    Mention OS used.

    VMC AN1020-21/OS is windows 7 64bit
    Check this :
Download "Connectify' to make your laptop work as a wifi Access point.
Connectify - Turn your Windows 7 laptop into a Wi-Fi Hotspot
    more later.
Mention the kind of Internet connection you have from Reliance.
Do you have to use a DIALER to connect ?
    Any modem/unit they supplied ?

I'm able to connect to wifi.. i'm not getting internet connection.. yes they provided adsl2+ router along.. no dialer is used.. once connected u have to goto log in page of reliance log in there and then u can access internet after logged in. i got 749 plan (600kpbs in day and 1mbps in nite unlimited) i searched alot and i found reliance is using Mac encapsulation routing (MER) connection type which is very secure mostly used in usa and other western countries.. bt i dont find anyway to setup MER connection in this router i guess i'll have to go return them.. this is soo disappointing i mean they had this feature in earlier modems and not in newer ones? i'm so pissed now

    Thanks for your PM.

Did you try RFC2684 (IPv4/6) with the exact same settings in my guide thread you quote? I am not sure if RFC2684 = MER, but if I were you, I would give it a try.

At a minimum, I would think you are able to get it working in bridged mode? Unless you wish to connect multiple devices at once, that would be a fallback option.

Yes RFC2684 is bridging mode.. so its not working.. and mac some where is kind of routing thats what i have read all over net.. bridging wont work coz it dont give option of dynamic ip, dns and all.. it only give option of dynamic ip rest are not there.. i feel so stuck thanx alot for ur prompt reply.. bt i think its next to impossible to make things work in this model. thanx alot for replying.

    It is not clear whether:
You use VMC router in "dialer" mode to connect to Internet .
    or "always On" PPP/PPPoE mode.

As mentioned by @glass , if you are using only one system
I feel ,you can get wifi mode in laptop.
Check the MAC white list in VMC router.
and enter wlan card details .

in reliance it dont run in dialer or ppp/pppoe mode.. reliance works in MER mode. which is dynamic mode.. it acquires ip and everything on its own.. u have to open reliancebroadband.com and there it asks for log in after u log in there u are able to access net.. i have attached a screenshot of it..

wat u are suggesting is completely else.. there are 2 mac settings in VMC modem 1st one is mac spoofing.. (it replicate mac address of a device) other one is mac white list.. its for security if u enter ur lappy's or pc's mac address there wifi or lan will give access to network to particular mac address on which u have entered in whitelist and will block rest and blacklist mac address. MER is one type or protocol for adsl.. and above 2 mac has nothing to do with it.. MER protocol is not supported by this device thats for sure..

my other question is i still have ITI router bt it dont save settings after reboot its back to factory default settings as soon i turn it off and turn it on just dont save settings at all.. is dere anyway to make it save settings? i tried upgrading fireware it wont let i think its because its memory is locked or sumthing anyway to make settings save?

also is there anyway we can use any of these devices just as wifi router? dere is no lan input in them so i think its dumb to ask that still asking if we can just use them as wifi router..

thanx to both of u for taking ur time out to reply and help me really appreciate it
