    Default Best Modem From BSNL

I am going to take connection of BSNL BB 750UL . My plan is to heir modem from BSNL. As BSNL gives modem of number of companies, which company's modem is best in type 1. I am asking this because if i got chance to select modem, i can say lineman for it.

My another question is that When i went to exchange they said they give only type 1 on rent. type 2,3,4 are available only for sale, i cant take them on rent. Is it true for all areas or it is in only in my area.

No, you can select all types in the order

    Rs.50

    Rs.80

    Rs.100

    Rs.130

I have a Nokia Siemens C 2110 which is type 1 modem. No issues till date. Also using AR800V v3.0 wifi modem for Rs. 80 per month rent. You can talk to some one senior at your exchange and ask them to review the decision.

    This may help

type 2,3,4 are available only for sale,.....
    Incorrect claim/information.
    Option 1:
    Contact D.E of exchange.
Then BB section will say "no stock" of Type II modem/routers.
or claim quota for rental basis exhausted ( which has no basis !)

    Option 2:
You can take Type I on rent and buy a wifi router .
or search in ebay.in for same ITI or SMC model may be available for Rs 1400/= or so
    and surrender the rental modem.

    Option 3 :
Or if you prefer, enquire in some other exchange in your town.
Say you need a BB connection with type II wifi modem/router).
( Security Deposit Rs 1000/= for wifi router )

    Option 4:
If you wish you can make a " COMPLAINT "ONLINE" ALL India web site
Wait for 2 or 3 days for response from your Exchange !

    Feedback.

Today i talked to customer care on 1500. he said that BSNL has stopped giving modems on rent, now they only sell the modems

So, please tell me a good modem which has 1 lan, 1 usb & a wifi a/b/g/n port. Budget is as low as you can keep but i need good one because i work on net for atleast 8 hours continous everyday.

Stop enquiring with the person you are dealing with now. Modem is still available on rent. Try talking to the SDE of your exchange. If you use 3 rd party modem, BSNL won't attend your complains blaming the modem.

I have been using 4 different types of modems purchased from BSNL...

    1. UTSTAR 300R2U (Type I, 1 Eth, 1 USB, no wifi)
    2. UTSTAR WA3002G4 (Type II, 4 Eth, wifi)
    3. ITI DNA-211-1 (Type II, 4 Eth, wifi)
    4. VMC AN 1020-21 (Type II, 4 Eth, 1 VoIP, wifi)

The first three are in use for about 2 years now and the last one for about 6 months.... absolutely, no problem with any of these after the initial hiccups. Once configured properly and TR-69 disabled, they will serve you well.

Take care about the power supply though, use some line filters in the AC input or better plug it into a UPS...
