    (Ticked) Enable DHCP Server
    Start IP Address: 192.168.1.5
    Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.4
how do you expect to access modem which gives IP starting from 192.168.1.5 from a computer having a IP 192.168.1.4 set by you!default setting for any dhcp server is IP starting from next to modem address which usually is 192.168.1.2 so why did you changed it.

    Thank you
I wanted to avoid having 1.4 being assigned dynamically. I will remove the static stuff altogether ... and setup dynamic assignment from 1.2 and save/reboot the router and let you know.

    Attaching the device info screenshot.

I connected LAN adapter of my PC to laptop and I was able to establish communication.

However, LAN connection from PC - Router or Laptop - router is not working and always assigns incorrect IP. When assigned static IP, the communication does not happen.

Can it be that all four LAN adapters on router have gone faulty ? When I plug in one end of the wire to router, I can see green light blinking on its left (behind.. the adapter connection side). The orange light on the right of LAN adapter keeps on and does not blink. The diagnostics show all interfaces are working (Pass).

In case they are faulty, is there anyway I can open the router and arrange one mahcine to be connected via LAN interface ? Can I connect the PC via Line interface behind ?
Third option, how much money will I have to shell out to get this repaired.

Any way I can check further ?
    Thanks,

    31/1
The UNit is not connected to any adsl BB line. now.
    or
    31/2
You are using Dialer mode to connect.
    31/3
From where the BB Data is given to this modem/router is not known.
    31/4
One of the LAN port gets feed from a cable ISP RJ45 or from another ADSL modem. ( MY setup :Both options )
    31/5
I connected LAN adapter of my PC to laptop and I was able to establish communication.
Q:The BB data input to the PC: Source ?
A: This machine on LAN, (say, Machine 1) already has data card installed and internet is working good.

    31/6:
How many desktops/ laptops used in your set up?

    Feedback.

Dears, Lets just keep the BB outside... I have one desktop and one laptop.

    1. I have one laptop connected successfully to my router via wireless (I'm also able to navigate to the setup page 192.168.1.1)

    2. The desktop is connected on LAN1 port to the router. The desktop does not have wireless

    3. The ports LINE (dialup), LAN2, LAN3, LAN4 are all UNUSED.

    4. I want to ensure that router facilitates communication between laptop and desktop.

I hope the above four points make the setup very clear.

The problem is that I'm not able to successfully connect PC - Router. When on dynamic IP assignment, I get 169.. and limited connectivity. When on static IP, I dont get that error. However, in either case, I'm not able to ping 192.168.1.1 from LAN.

NO Only 1 ethernet card in desktop.
    (A) Files/folder transfer?
Not sure by what you mean? How can I transfer folders / files to router ?
I'm able to do it when I directly connect PC <-> Laptop. But not with PC <-> Router

when you are doing this what was the IP assigned to your laptop or better post ipconfig /all data while you have opened the 192.168.1.1 page on your laptop(remove tunnel data).

also post a screenshot of your router dhcp page,nat/firewall page & filter/access control page.

You like to assume more than what is meant, in your reply
and ask counter questions unrelated to the topic.

    Confirm again : 3a.
Simple YES or NO will do.

    Para two:
    REQUIRED:
    (A) I want to ensure that router facilitates communication between laptop and desktop.
    My query:
    A) Files/folder transfer?
    Your response :
Not sure by what you mean?
How can I transfer folders / files to router ?
I'm able to do it when I directly connect PC <-> Laptop.
But not with PC <-> router
Assuming my query was not understood,/misunderstood
your question shows a 'Know all" attitude,! and challenges/
ridicules my knowledge of the subject .

You can explain what sort of communication
router should facilitate between laptop and desktop.

    in your present set up.

(B)The problem is that I'm not able to successfully connect PC - Router.
When on dynamic IP assignment, I get 169.. and limited connectivity.
When on static IP, I dont get that error. However, in either case,

B)TRY "MER" in Beetel 450BXI. (Enabled earlier )
Try in computer Obtain Ip address automatically again.

    Your query
Please let me know what is "MER"
    .
]Ignore . Not needed. Not possible.
    You can try this.
    In Desktop check your DynamicIP
    http://checkip.dyndns.com/
Re type the address in browser.
A Window appears to access the modem/router ?

also post a screenshot of your router dhcp page,nat/firewall page & filter/access control page.
Check the attached Router Log.doc and let me know if you need something more.

Also, while this was done, the Laptop was connected over dynamic/wireless and Desktop was connected over LAN with static IP but I was not able to access 1.1 page. In network connection properties in Desktop, I could see packet sent but not received. But, in router I can see packets sent + received.

    Statistics -- LANStatistics -- LAN

    Interface Received Transmitted
Bytes Pkts Errs Drops Bytes Pkts Errs Drops
    Ethernet 8206 107 0 0 86671 837 0 0
    Wireless 581758 4637 0 0 1912149 4731 0 0

I have also put the router logs, however for some unknown reason time is set to first Jan... that is incorrect... but the logs are updated.

in your router log3.doc access control--services uncheck all entries under LAN & check all entries under WAN.click save/apply afterwards.remain connected to 192.168.1.1 from your laptop & then connect pc using lan(first with static ip & then with dhcp).in both cases note the ip assigned on lan & run ping command to 192.168.1.1 & 192.168.1.2.also turn off windows firewall if on & ping result comes back with 100% loss in both cases.

    Hi

I tried this... the results were same. In static mode, it is timed out. In dynamic mode, destination host unreachable.

In case of hardware fault with LAN adapter in Router... how can it be best repaired. Do we have any such interface in market which can be soldiered in... ? Can I use the line interface to dial into the modem ? Any clue ?

all 4 lan ports can go bad only if the onboard lan chip itself malfunctioned.i don't think you can find a lan chip first of all & second even if you do find one it has to be exactly same as the one in your router.the best option is to buy a new unit.TP-Link make some good & cheap modems/routers & many here are using it.

I am trying to, ( even though above comment may not be addressed to me !) but the problem is puzzling for me !!!

( I have similar router (without adsl input port 0/0/0)
using it for laptop lan/ VOIP OOMA) and wifi router for different laptops all working OK.
    )

Your Id does justify your comments , and appears @moneyline has been banned..May be Forum lost a new member. You should give some time for new members who are trying to complete 15 posts, and post one liners. opening any thread.

@moderator/s are there and they review all posts and threads/and take action as deemed necessary. If you did not like you should have clicked the RED triangle and reported the post/s
instead of posting your comments here. ( or sent a PM to him/her )

Now this thread will go "OFFTRACK" and the main problem sidelined.

    Para two:
You should have rather posted your comments on the technical problem which I am giving in brief.
Cannot access IP address 192.168.1.1 in
Desktop A having datacard BB connection is giving INPUT to a Wifi router Beetel450BXI on LAN1 port

*1(NO adsl input Rj11 port from any ISP to the wifi router
*2 Can access from laptop in wifi mode .
*3 Ports in the router Lan2 Lan3 Lan4 are also suspect.!!!

    Para three;
REP points + 28 from me to the member giving the solution.
( I have some idea but restraining myself ! Go to Top of page !!!!)

(# a similar problem on a VDSL thread also pending )

Dropped in to say thank you Whitestar... I have got two folks from Beetel centers in Mumbai who said they would charge 1 (Rs 650 with 1 yr warranty for repair) and another says (Rs 350 no comments on warranty for repair) .. I believe the router itself will cost around 2K.. I'll have this 'dabba' lying around and looking forward to allow them have a look.. I dont know if getting them repaired will last long :-o if it does for 1 year as such of my usage, 650 is not bad.

    BTW, Have you noticed any typical power constraints on this stuff ? I dont have good wiring here in my bldg. Although wireless works without any problem (100% strength); for LAN in one machine it was assigning private IP (169);

for another Laptop, using same wire and port, the connection was showing almost always disconnected (very rarely once or twice it shows connected (with good IP ..i.e. 192..) but lasts for not more than 5 seconds) weird though :-S
