Thread: My modem is dead for about a month

Friends,

My BSNL modem is dead for about a month.Have made atleast 3-4 complaints with BSNL Chennai.Its surprising they havent even reverted to me so far.

I read from other threads that in Kerala and in other places BSNL acts swift.Even after a month i have no taker from BSNL Chennai.. I have paid one year full rent [ Rs 11000] ; in effect one month is already lost.

Some of my friends are advising me to go to consumer court.Am really confused here.

Any suggestion? Thoughts?

Try talking to the SDE. Call customer care and ask for his no. .If nothing works, give a written complaint to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. ID and phone no on the backside of your bill. You can also call them and seek assistance.

How you concluded Modem is "dead"?
what is the modem make/number ?
No LED light is glowing ? Power etc.
Your telephone is working ?

You should have taken the modem/router to Your Exchange and got it tested. For outright purchase Guarantee period, is 6 months/or 1 year.

if on rent replacement easy.

Did you give a written complaint ? Have receipt stamp from
BSNL CC ?
( required for consumer court etc !!!)

Even now it is not too late. Make a visit to BB section of your Exchange. They will replace if necessary, if modem is "dud"

6. If No usage is shown in Usage Portal A.O may waive rent for a month and give you credit.
