Default "Network unplugged error" appears frequently

    Hi,
I use the wireless feature of my modem to connect to internet for my laptop and a ethernet lan cable(rj 45) for my desktop to access internet.

But my desktop frequently disconnects from network saying "network unplugged error" and then again connects .This repeats for many times.

I need to connect to internet with ethernet cable to my desktop and wireless to my laptop without any problem. Please help

    Was facing the same problem.

    1. Check the ethernet cable. Try a new one and try.

    2. Try ping the ethernet card. May be it is faulty.

    3. In the device manager, check the drivers. If possible, reinstall the drivers (mostly comes with motherboard CD).

    4. I think your modem has 4 ethernet ports. Select another one and try. Trial and error will be better.

    5. Try " Repair ". It may work in some cases.

Does your BIOS have Smart Lan feature?

You can use it to test the connection. It is supposed to even give an idea of how far along the cable a fault is.

However, with an intermittent fault, it may do no more than tell you, "now it works; now it doesn't." --- and you knew that already. Might be worth a look, though.

    What is your motherboard?

Mine is GA-890GPA-UD3H. It has an intermittent fault with the network connection (of course, I only found out after buying it). That problem, however, shows at boot time, with the adapter not coming up. Once it is up it stays up. Still might be worth a google for the motherboard.

    ping 192.168.1.1

Go to network connections , select your connection , right click. You will find an option to " Repair ".

If possible, check using another modem.
