Thumbs down BSNL Boardband cannot open some sites

I am having this very strange problem where I cannot open some sites using BSNL broadband. When I try using some other network, this works.

I am also using Google DNS and the IP address is resolving as I can ping and SSH to this server.

This happens for a week and then then fixes itself.

I am using Firefox 3.6 but the same problem occurs with Opera, Safari and Chrome.

Already using the latest version. of firefox. This has to be something with the BSNL routing.

Also used another computer on the same network and same issue. So do not think this is browser or computer issue

    computers/ browsers tested OK>

(a)Use the modem in another BSNL BB connection in "Dialer" mode
(b)( If possible in another ISP say Airtel vpi vci 1 and 32)
    Mention modem/router/model/make/number.
(c)Check MTU is set to 1492 or lower in the modem.
( if option is available in Lan settings page))
    (d)Check Lease time entered
    (e)and also access control page.

    Smile Problem Fixed

I just checked my Modem and Router settings. Both had an MTU set to be 1500.
I have set MTU to 1452 and now the site is working.

(Actually 1492 should be sufficient as this is needed by the PPPoEoA header)

    Thanks for the help.
