    Default Bsnl wll

I have been using Aircel's Pocket internet 98 on my PC since a year now, but its speed in my region (Assam) is 2 to 3 kbps on an average. sometimes, but very rarely the speed goes upto 10 to 12 kbps, but that to for a few minutes in short bursts. I can rarely depend on my connection to do things, let alone using SW like Bitorent to download huge files. I downloaded a SW last time using pocket internet on my PC which took 53 days to be downloaded completely. Thats really horrible to say the least!!!! I have heared about BSNL's WLL. I would like to know its tariff and if its possible to get the connection without using any phone, wires and stuff, bcz I find it difficult to manage such junk.

If your phone is 3G ready
    or
in PC use 3G USB modem.
    Check availability in your location.

You can get a wll connection at your home if a supported tower is available at your location. Check with your local exchange about the availability. A friend of mine took the " Tarang " connection last day. You need a wll phone (wireless) and a data cable to get internet at your home. Simply connect the phone to your PC using data cable and dial. I think the speed is around 15 KBps. But expect somewhere around 8 - 10 KBps.

What will be the total cost of acquiring a WLL connection, including the WLL phone etc.? but i heard that the speed is 144 kbps.

Just checked. My friend paid Rs. 600 for one year land line rent. He got the phone for free and the rent is Rs. 250 per month. Please check your exchange for the offer in your circle.
