Exclamation Confused ?

I am using BSNL broadband under plan 750UL
Modem : huawei smartax mt841.

I am a bit Confused

Earlier i was using this to surf internet in windows xp and i was getting download speed upto 190kpbsbut few days earlier i switched to windows 7 ultimate and to my surprise my download speed got reduced to 50 kbps. i tried out every tweaks but all in vain

In download manager downloads starts at 170 kbps but it reduces and comes to 50 kbps, torrents speed also stuck to 50 kbps

Is there a problem with my modem compatibility with windows 7

if you are on ul 750 plan you will get speed of 512 kbps or 64 kBps you are getting correct speed !

and for the speed you are getting in xp it might be a promotional offer for first 15 days !

how old is your connection ?

are you sure you are geting 190 kbps or 190 kBps

there is difference between b and B

1 byte(B) = 8 bits(b).

and if you are getting any speed above 50 KBPS its according to the plan only !
you will not get higher speeds than 64 KBPS !

1. Disable your firewall/Antivirus and check.

2. Try port forwarding and check.

3. Switch to bridge and try.

Do you see a green tick at the bottom of utorrent ? Or does it shows an Orange - Yellow triangle ? If later, your connection is interrupted as port is not forwarded.

I think you get 2Mbps (200-220kBps download/torrent speed) for first 2 weeks and later speeds goes as per your plan 512kbps (50-55kBps download/torrent speed).
