    Default Huawei MT882 Restarts/Reboots Automatically

Hi Everybody. I've been using the Huawei MT882 since the last 4 years and since yesterday I have this strange problem.

I am connected thru the USB (since my ethernet port is faulty on the modem). After the power and the USB light come on, the LINK light takes a while which is normal. But since yesterday, the moment the LINK light starts blinking after the power and USB lights are on, the modem restarts/reboots.

Anybody has experienced this ? Any solutions ?

since my ethernet port is faulty on the modem)
    Change the RJ45 cable/

    Post as Annexure STATISTICS/ADSL data
showing attn /snr and mod mode selected.

If the Power adapter is for DC output, may need replacement/repair.
( Electrolytic condenser inside might have gone dry/leaky.
Confirm modem was purchased outright .
If on rental basis. both modem and Power adapter can be exchanged !!! ask Exchange Broadband section.

Looks like a faulty modem. Reset the modem and reconfigure it. It may help.

If possible, try a friend's modem at your place.

Thanks you for replying essbee, meetdilip and mvs_sarma :-)

    @essbee : I've tried changing the cable. doesn't work :-(
Didn't understand one bit of this :
    Post as Annexure STATISTICS/ADSL data
showing attn /snr and mod mode selected.
    Could you explain it please.

The adapter is from Ktec company and it says AC Adaptor. Input is 230V - 50Hz - 70mA. Output is 9v - 1000mA. And yes, it was purchased outright and I doubt if it has any warranty after 4 years.

@meetdilip : It works sometimes now and sometimes it restarts. I did try the reset button but it didn't help. Yet to try it at my friend's place though.

@mvs_sarma : Saw the PM :-) Thats really nice of you but free ? I'll reply by PM.
