Default Is it better to Prepay for 12months

    Hi,

I am currently on home 750+ (512kbps UL)and thinking to go with BBG Combo ULD 1000 (2 Mbps upto 15 GB, 256 Kbps beyond 15 GB)

And i am thinking to prepay for 12 months.

So my question is will i have any problems in doing so or anything i should be worried with??

    Thanks

    (1) BBGFN750 u/l
approx max D/L 70 GB per month

    Speed 512Kbps 64KB/sec approx 3.5 MB/min 200 MB/hour.
say avg 100 MB /hour 12 hours of surfing d/l
say 1 GB approx. per day.
For full month say 30 GB.
    Amount Rs 750/+ taxes
    (2)

    Calculate for ULD 1000 15 GB + 35 GB =
    approx max 50 GB
    Amount Rs 1000+taxes
( d/l rate max approx 1 GB/hour. 15 GB used up in one or two days )
    All calculations/speed/ approx and theoretical.

    Para two:
Again you may change your mind, and opt for another new plan.
frequent visits to A.O will be needed to adjust the annual payment
( pro rata basis ) made. Concession/rebate withdrawn.

If you are not a heavy user, ULD 1000 will suit you. But opting for 12 months payment is not wise. BSNL keep changing/improving their plans. Will be a difficult affair to change your plan once you opted for annual payment.

they keep the existing plan as it is for the year and any applicable changes, they would nor deprive a customer as he already paid for an year in advance. BSNL would do a proportionate calculation, after the proposed revision, if any during the 1 year period. how ever I shall locally inquire and update this post.

For Chennai telecom circle: Broadband users.
Your plan change may be immediate in Udaan site. or
    shown in Usage portal data.bsnl.in
whenever you apply for a tariff plan change
in any day in the month.

A.O of my exchange ,said that they will effect change ONLY
from following month 1st . ( I had problem about free calls ).
even if you apply on 1st Sept/10th Sept/30th Sept .
DGM Marketing ( Chennai telephones ) circular
    (Shri M.Mohan)
    BB/commercial 08-09 dated 31 /01/2009 still being followed.
    2.
Users in other circles also check with A.O about
effective date of change of plan.

Technical side may increase/decrease the speed
but accounts section follows above circular.

    @totallyfandu:
If you have access to any amendment circular, from
    DELHI , kindly post.

I applied for change on Jan 10th/2011.
Marked future dated 1st Feb 2011
    .{ Problem was about free phone calls. }
