Yes, both upload and download will be considered. Suppose you download 1 GB per hour and upload 0.5 GB at the same time, hourly consumption is taken as 1.5 GB.

Most of us use a bandwidth meter to keep track on our usage. You may try one from Shaplus or Networx.

I recently(25th Feb) submitted an application form to change my broadband plan from UL 1350 Home(very old connection) to the newer BBG Combo ULD 1350 connection.I saw the staff changing my plan in their system in front of me.But, still my plan has not been changed to 4Mbps as promised.
Also, My line rate is 2048 Kbps according to ADSL statistics page. What should i do to get the 4Mbps connection speeds?
    THank You.

    1. Are you sure that the plan has been changed ? Post the orders page of your portal after blackening your personal details.

    2. Download any file from Microsoft and report the speed.

    3. Go to speedtest.net, perform a speed test and post the result.

    4. Try this

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...onnection.html (How to: get max. speed of a connection)

    5. If still no luck, try talking to the SDE of your exchange. Ask him to lift the speed cap on your connection.

    6. If nothing works, give a written complaint to Nodal officer and /or Appellate authority. ID and phone no on the backside of your bill. Call them and seek help.

    Thumbs down I hate FUP

This is crap. We have to keep track of usage, even on unlimited plans.
BSNL should give a 1Mbps real unlimited plan for Rs.1000/-

    @meetdilip,
The plan change that I submitted recently has not been updated in "Portal Orders" page.
The problem is that the people at BSNL do not realize that Home UL 1350 and BBG Combo ULD 1350 are two different plans. They only see "1350" and tell me "Isn't it the same plan, why do you want to change?"
Home UL 1350 plan is very old which doesn't even exist now(512 Kbps unlimited) as opposed to BBG Combo ULD 1350(4 Mbps upto 20 GB).

Try if you can enlighten them. Otherwise, try this site

    UDAAN PROJECT -- BSNL

No registration required. Reports are that the plan change happened in 2-3 days' time.

    Question Plan change

Okay, they have changed the plan and it is visible in the orders page:
    Now, I have one doubt:
The plan name says "BB Home Combo ULD 1350 "..is it the same as : "BBG Combo ULD 1350"? I am concerned about the speed.

Also, will they change my Line rate automatically, or should I contact someone in the exchange?

Plan is yet to get changed. It is future dated as of now. Your plan will change tomorrow. ULD is a latest introduction by BSNL. So I believe that is same as BBG Combo ULD 1350. If you are getting low speed, a visit to exchange can help.
