Thread: Please, look at my IC overview & suggest me. Frequent disconnection.

Please have a look at the two of my Internet connection overview and tell me whether i am getting good connection or should I do anything else to make it up.. Both are taken in my connection only.

By the way I am in Home Unlimited 1350 plan. 4mbps speed upto 20 GB and 512kbps..

Average speed I am getting is Ok. But,

the main problem I am getting is frequent disconnection. In my modem, ADSL and Internet light restarts often. Sometimes repeatedly... 1 restart/min. At that time I control my anger and wait for it to come back... Come back... Come back... Exchange is 3 KM from my house. Rural area.

Please help me. If u need any more details I'll get it to u... Have a look at the Attenuation

before i post this thread 4 times my internet connection disconnected.

Let me explain u the problem.

Four lights ON in my modem
1.Power light 2.ADSL 3.Internet 4.LAN

Frequently

ADSL and Internet turns OFF and ADSL blinks for sometime and turns ON and Internet comes back.

Like this repeatedly happens.

1. SNR and Attenuation rate are poor. Get your line checked by the line man.

2. Check your splitter. Make sure all connections come after the splitter. Check this image



Bypass the splitter, connect directly to the modem and check.

3. Check another modem and splitter at your place (just to confirm that they are ok ).

Asked the line man to check it. Today also they checked and rectified. Worked well for some hours. But after some hours I started getting the same problem... and also I am getting a loud noise in my telephone...

I think I have to tell them again to check the line thoroughly...


Do you have any idea of how far from the Telephone exchange is feasible to get good connection...?

So, I am having a bad Internet connection....

My SNR is less than 6dB
and
Line Attenuation is more than 55dB

Distance from my house to the Telephone exchange is 3KM.

I hope the distance doesn't affect it the connection.

Problem should be in the Telephone cable... Am I right...?

Try talking to the SDE of your exchange. Take a print out of your SNR and Attenuation values and seek his assistance. Normally it is said that Attenuation is affected by the distance from exchange and SNR due to line condition.
