    Default BSNL Dataone Frequent Disconnection

Can anyone tell me the maximum allowed distance between the telephone and the modem for satisfactory working of BSNL Broadband connection.
Lately,i am facing frequent disconnections in Connectivity and this is after i have shifted my Computer(along with Modem) a little far from Splitter.
Previously,i was using 28-30 feet of cable from splitter to modem and i used to get satisfactory speed.
Now,this distance is doubled.I suspect this increased distance as the cause of frequent disconnections.
Can anyone confirm this and tell me the maximum allowed distance..

Speed won't be affected due distance. Check that the line is proper w/o any cuts or joint.

    i was using 28-30 feet of(* RJ11)cable
Recommended by BSNL less than 3 feet , in one of their web sites.
Also check contacts for blackening/corrosion/rusting/ high resistance contacts.

Now, if you had given the actual modem model/make/number in your earlier post,( not needed/required for the subject matter of the thread chosen by you)

How can i post my actual modem model/make/number?
I can only see 'IBALL ADSL Router/modem......' written on the Modem. Will that be sufficient?
    Also,pls confirm the foll:
    1. The link provided requires only one input from my side, which is sync speed.
    2. I can get the sync speed for my modem from kitz's website .if my modem is not listed there, then i have to google for its sync speed.
Pls comment on above 2 points

As a sidenote, how do i check whether a cable is RJ11 or not?
I read somewhere that connections between Modem to splitter should be using RJ11 cables.
The Additional cable that i have used is light blue in color and it contains 6 wires, whereas the black wire that i was previously using was having only 2 wires in it.
Waiting for a revert on my query..
Does the RJ11 cable contains only 2 wires or what??
