    Default Query on Plan upgradation

    Hey Guys....
Im new to this forum, Just joined today

Currently Im using BSNL Unlimited plan (256kbps ) and planning to change to 900 Plan where I get 4Mbps download for first 8GB and there after 256kbps.

    Im using UT300R2U modem

    My queries are:
    1. Does my modem support that 900 plan, the officials say my port is of version 2 and I need to upgrade it to Version 3 to get that speed....is that true

    2. Second query is the wireless routers which BSNL provides, are they with inbuilt ADSL modem? or do I have to connect the phone line to ADSL modem and then to the wireless router

Pls help me with these queries

    Thanks in advance
    Aghora

UT300R2U modem is capable of handling 4 Mbps if configured properly. Lot of users were having problem in getting 4 Mbps speed as BSNL has their old speed cap of 2 Mbps in place. If you face the same problem, you need to check with exchange. It is lie that this modem cannot handle 4 Mbps. Whoever told you is either an ignorant person or fooling you.

As you mentioned in other post, AR800V v3.0 is a wifi modem cum router. No need to buy a separate router to get wifi router.

Are you sure that it is not written at the top ? Check the box and see if you can find the model number. But by experience, I can tell you Teracom Type II modem is T2-B-Gaw1.4U10Y-BI. Also the port won't be FATA, it will be USB. Teracom Type II modem has 4 RJ 45 ports, one USB port and one DSL (RJ11) port. You can connect one PC through USB, 4 using ethernet cable and almost 100 using wifi.
