Thread: connecting two computers by bsnl broadband single user 750 plus plan

I have two computers and I want to connect the two computers by bsnl broadband single user 750 plus plan. I have a type III modem( ADSL Modem -SmartAX MT841). I came to know I can do it by using a router. But Is it possible to do it with the modem I have configuring as router. Please let me know.

I am also using UL 750 and use my PC, Laptop and Phone to wifi and ethernet networks.

Is yours a wifi modem cum router ? If yes, you can share the net connection between two or more machines using ethernet cable as well as wifi.

Follow these steps

1. Configure your modem in PPPoE mode.

2. Enable DHCP in your modem.

3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection (both machines), set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

Also check " Connectify".

Option 1:

Use the USB port for the desktop computer which is least used.
You need USB drivers.

{The Lan port for the Desktop (computer) which you use maximum}

Option 2:.

LAN1 & Lan2 to connect the desktops.

Option 3.

If you got the wireless PCMCIA card ( difficult to get ) for AX Mt841 modem/wifi router,
WCBG03H PCMCIA 802.11b/g Card for MT841 modem.
you can use WIFI mode. ( as suggested above )

You need WIFI PCI ethernet card in desktops.
