Thread: I was charged Rs 20977 for free night usage 2-8 am in BBG FN 500 plan

Hi today i received my BSNL land line bill of February month and i was shocked to see that the bill amount was Rs 20977.
I am using BBG FN 500 Plan for past 2 years. In February my total Usage was 91GB, in which chargeable usage was 2.31GB. I regularly check the usage on the portal. But when i got the bill i was shocked to see that all my free usage was also charged. Below are the full details

Total MB: 93183

Free MB: 2560 MB(i.e 2.5 GB per month for BBG FN 500 plan)

Net MB: 90623 (i.e 93813-2560=90623)

Usage: 18215 i.e 90623*0.20 paise= Rs 18215

Plus Broadband Rent Rs.500 and other charges i.e. call charges, rent, tax etc
So total Bill Rs 20977

This means I was charged for the free night usage also , so what shall i do? whom shall i complain ? Please reply

1. Do you reboot at 2.00 am and 8.00 am ?

2. Post a screen shot after blackening the personal details make sure that you post the usage detail at 2 -8 slot.

3. Talk to the accounts officer.

4. Also check the " Post paid orders " page and confirm your plan is still Home 500 (it has been discontinued). Check and confirm.

BBG FN 500 Plan
Probably you are checking in a selfcare portal .
Better SAVE the usage page in Hard disk.
Take a print out, and give an application to A.O stating the revised bill amount.
Get receipt ( stamped ) in you copy from CC /Your exchange.

my total Usage was 91GB, in which chargeable usage was 2.31GB.

The Summary column should show above figures.
Usually we deduct from last column the free data usage.
So in your usage portal shows 2.31 GB deduct 2.5GB
( can be 1.5 GB also . not sure which plan is shown in Your My Orders page )

You can also show previous 3 or 6 months bill showing low/nil

Yes, my plan BBG FN 500 is still active in my order. I use dialup method to connect broadband and I use Autoconnect v3.3.2 by Aijaz for connecting at night time at 2 am and it disconnects at 8 am. There is clearly no issues in my side. its the problem with bsnl side only.

btw how did u recieve the bill so early
i normally recieve the bill 10-15 days later

what the hell is wrong with bsnl ...
when are they gonna sort this..

im fearing the same situation

i am very happy that i surrendered my bsnl broadband in dec 2010. else i would have found myself in the same boat because i was having the same plan.

Hi...I also received telephone bill with both free and night unlimited usage combined ,made contact with bsnl person.they have told me that it is their mistake and they will rectify it very soon.
We have to bear it what else we can do.

According to the self care portals, there is a maintenance going at BSNL end. Hence they are unable to provide the usage details as they should be. Hope they will fix soon.

I am also facing the same Problem ........As per the Bsnl account officers....they first identify the problem ,how lazy and rude ........They takes 3 days even to rectify the Problems

I got 5233 rs Bill instead of only 500+ST

I to faced the same problem when i opted for modem on rent but when i got the bill i was shocked to see the amount saying 3000 ie modem purchase + 1month rent and usage charges i contacted the regional JTO at the exchange where i submitted the application and took a xerox copy of the given application and directly met the account officer. who then checked and admitted their mistake and gave a new bill.

My suggestion is when ever you take connection of any seervice provider take a xerox copy of the applicaton and then submit it. So your problem gets solved soon

Meet the account officer directly if u think the billing is worng or else you can directly log a complained online through the portal

same issue was also with me I have been charged for NU in jan bill..and only for 31st jan .
I have contacted the AO of my area ,first time he was very rude and was not listening and ask me to bring print out of usage.
Then after seeing it he agers and give Rs. 870 refund for that bill.

u should also do tha same!!

Some self care portal for usage check , record
time blocks 0800AM to 0200AM ( No problem . Usage shown in KB)
0200AM to 0800 AM ( NU) . Usage also shown in KB and not 0 KB.
Even for H24 unlimited plans the usage is counted.

Then Depending on the plan, Summary at the top supposed to ignore Night usage for Plans with NU free.

( and unlimited H24 plans.)


This could be the reason for the excessive bill.

You have to explain this to the A.O
or take print out and calculate amounts for each period.
for revised bill.

yes i had also bill of 4700 but at that time i did not know about this portal and all.

i only downloed at 2am to 8am ,but something wrong with bsnl so i paid and after that i did not bought it.

instead of that i use bsnl 3g wireless unlimited now

You cannot change from exisiting tariff plan to plan Home 500 . Discontinued wef 1st Feb 2011.
( existing users continue till they also opt for a new tariff plan )

Home 500 is no more accepting fresh registration. You can choose either Home combo 500 or Home combo 600.

i m apply a new internet connection so i m pick bbg fn 500 so it will be ok for me because i m olny for use at night 2.30 to 7.30

BBG FN 500 abh nahi raha. Jo pehle se use kar rahe hain, bus unkeliya hai ab. Agar aapp night unlimited chahthey ho to BBG FN Combo 500 ya BBG FN Combo 600 apply kare.

BSNL ke 2-8 plans ke list de raha hoon, ummed hai ki aap ka kam ayega

may jo pehle wala plan hai BBG FN 500 usme limited 1.5gb tha aur ab BBG FN COMBO 500 main 2.5gb hai so naya wala better hai, aur usme "virajkin ke jesa rs20977 bill" to nahi ayega na.

aur ye naya wall combo pehle se better hai kya!!!!!

Agar aap bill se darthe ho to UL 499, UL Combo 625, UL 750 ya UL combo 750 use kare. Par night unlimited nahi milega, magar bill ekdum fixed hai.

BBG FN Combo 500 keval 1.5 GB deta hai. Jaise mein ne pehle kaha tha, Home 500 ab nahi hai. Tho agar Night unlimited ke liye jo link diye hai, useme se select kare. Mere khayal se BBG FN Combo 600 acha hain. Isme night unlimited hai or day time 2.5 GB hai. Aur jankari keliya , ye link refer kare

main to night main 2.30 to 7.30 tak hi use karuga may be for any mistake for bsnl aur mera bill jayada to nahi aayega ne yahi mereko janna hai aesa koi problem to nahi hota hai na

Jo ye bade bill ke problem dekh rahe ho, vo mainly BSNL server error ke vajah se hain. BSNL ne sabi aise bill ko theek kar diya hein. Agar 2 - 8 beech main use karen, tho koyi problem nahi hain. Mere bohut se dosth ye plan use karte hai. Kiseeko aaj thak koi problem nahi aaya. Bus khyal rekhe ki start or end time 2-8 beech rehe. Yani, 2.05 am ko modem restart kare aur 7.55 am ko bhi aisa karen. aisa karne se,start or end time 2 -8 beech mein aayega. Yeh sab software ke through bhi kar sakte hain. Search " NU scheduler " in forum for more details.

BB Home Combo UL 750 is costly plan for me so BBG FN Combo 500 hi lene wala hu and lastly thnks for meetdilip fab job.
