i installed wamp server a few months back to practice php
now i just wanted to check if i could i access the page from the internet like this which is perfect because i saw on a site this is a basic
unfortunately that doesn't get me to the page
obviously, typing in my lan ip instead of my wan ip gets the job done
but typing in 117.etc.etc.etc:80 (port) doesn't
i searched in many places and asked for help on irc servers but all in vain
the problem as one of the guys on Demonoid irc told me, was that the port on which the wamp server would get client access requests has to be forwarded.
and for that i have to forward a port on my router configuration page.
my router as you can see in my profile is nokia siemens networks residential router 1600 and on the config page, under NAT, i get nothing but DMZ
even through telnet i went down to Virtual Server-> add-> added wamp as name
added ports:
External start: 80
end:9219
Internal start:9229 and same end port
server ip address: i gave internal lan ip: 192.168.1.2
and protocol tcp
then saved and came back
still nothing
so whats the problem!
my friend just did that on his stupid c2110 modem he has bsnl also
and i accessed his pages on at ip:9219/page.html
i just want to do it its a very basic thing but this port forwarding thing is maddening me
Please help
