Thread: Frequent outage/error 674

Location: South Kolkata
Connection: BSNL broadband home 500

Every 2-3 days there is an internet outage.

It starts with an abrupt packet loss to all servers; then complete outage and a line drop.
It seems to happen at any time. And then I see error 674 for 1-2 days. Then the problem fixes itself.

The connection is sadly even less reliable than Airtel.

The phone line of the connection is fine, and there is no noise/breaks in the line.

Is there any feasible way to fix this bs ?

Or go to exchange (Jadavpur Exchange has a reputation of this kind of problems)

thanks, I submitted a grievance on that form.

I think my exchange is "Russa exchange", probably similar to jadavpur.

So I got an sms saying "connection has been restored"

So i checked my bsnl connection to find that although latency was normal there was heavy packet loss.

I checked again after 2 hours; and now there is no packet loss but latency to all servers is 100-150ms above normal ...............
