Thread: frequent disconnection of broadband

hi guys,i have a UL-750 plan at home......the problem is that on same days my broadband disconnects every 5 mins keep on disconnecting and there are days when it runs smooth whole day.but on average it gets disconnected every half hour....The link LEd doesnt remain solid and blinks evry now and then..hope u got me.
I have asked exchange ,they said every thing was okay at their end...
Yesterday i called line man.He checked the wires and the there was some rust on loose ends he cut some part and joined them again.Then it ran smooth for the whole day.I thought that the problem is cured.But today it was disconnecting so badly and i am getting frustrated........he said that the wires were fine.....And the landline isin tip top condition.
So what can be the actual problem.....Is it the cables or the modem or something else....

i have a noia siemens c2110 modem...

1. Post your SNR and Attenuation values.

2. Check the LAN card. Make sure it is not faulty.

3. Check the ethernet cable (RJ45). If possible, replace it and try.

4. Check the splitter. It can be faulty. Replacement if possible.

5. Make sure that all connections come after the splitter. Check this diagram



Bypass the splitter, connect directly to the modem and check.

6. If nothing works, ask the exchange people to change your port at exchange. I had to get it done around 3 times to prevent DSL failure some 6 months ago. No issues till date.

7. You can give a complaint here. Users feedback says it is effective

no probs with wire,splitter have to be checked...can there be some problem with modem??????
i m not an expert so scared with the number of things you suggested .
called the line man tommorow.. lets see what he can do

For your SNR values go to your browser > go to Router page > under ADSL > SNR margin(dB) and Attenuation.

To get the values of SNR and Attenuation,

1. Type 192.168.1.1

2. ID and password is admin

3. Post the screen shot of the landing page. You can find the values in it.

What is the present FW version ?
Do you use "Dialer "to connect?
Please check my signature link 'TERAcom" for links showing screen shots etc( Ignore the wifi part).
Please try Mod mode GDmt.
Re check snr/attn in connection status.
Please recheck adsl splitter ports are connected properly.
Ensure extra telephones in other rooms have additional ADSL splitter.

How can this harm your PC ? Accessing 192.168.1.1 is as safe as drinking a coffee.

problem solved....i had my phone in other room with a separate splitter...bsnl guy told me to put phone into same splitter as the broadband...now the link is stable

If such cases occur, always check the splitter. To add for future reference

also try bsnl selfcare... I complained about an issue and they had taken action in just a day...
