MTNL customers enjoy 1Mbps FUP free internet at Rs.999 . So if the 2 companies are merged, it would either mean MTNL customers will get BSNL's FUPed plans with great data alllowances e.g BSNL's whopping 8388608KBs for Rs.900 vs MTNL,s 1Mbps true unlimited for Rs.999. OR WE the BSNL customers may get plans similar to MTNL .

I saw the new page. It really good. Merger of two companies will give better plan for users.

BSNL is a truly pan India operator with 2G/3G G/cell coverage in all B & C class towns.
I dont have their Revenue /Profits/Losses &Customer data ready in hand.
MTNL - based in Delhi (political power centre) and Bombay (Business capital)
may have edge in political connections may be ! (+profitable due to concentrated 2 city only coverage)
but BSNL should be a giant in size compared to MTNL.(but losses due to un profitable rural land line coverage)
Pan India
one price call (std/local in land lines ),
2g/3g Cell phone -Voice -
"Everywhere is Local" -One Price-Roaming banished! -
kashmir to kanyakumari/Kutch to Kolkatta-advts should be catchy!
Pan India 2G/EVDO/3 G data use -one price-
should really kick all the private stock market darling telco's !(Airtel & Tata)
( If they can get their house in order- Doubtbul because of various political interference)
Any guess for their new name ?

Having flash content on the front page is no longer a good practice. I use flashblock, a flash blocking plugin for firefox, because my data usage would exceed if I view flash content, and I should pay for excess. Yes I use BSNL H500.

Many of the site links to their own websites not available.
Project seems to have been abandoned.

Using Flash (at least for basic navigation) is not cool. Using flash that takes several seconds to load, on a 2Mb connection, is not only not cool, it is downright bad. And the animation is horrible.

What's more... Looks like somebody just could not resist scrolling text.

Next thing... They can't even spell "broadband". Hey, I'm not saying you won't find spelling mistakes in my posts (I know you will) but that's not a major corporate front page!
