Default 15 Day offer limited to Limited Plans?

I recently took a new broadband connection on a different line, I opted for Home 750 hoping to use 2mbps for first 15 days, however after numerous calls to Local Exchange and them calling the DE/SDE etc - they are now telling me it only applies for Limited plans!!

" 15 days unlimited free download at 2Mbps to the New Customers registering their Broadband connections upto 31-03-2011 in all the circles. "

    Source : http://bsnl.co.in/service/PO_BB.htm

Show this link. It is available for all new connections irrespective of the plan. Try complaining to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. ID and phone no. on the backside of your bill.

Yes I explained it to them, I been doing this since Saturday when I got the connection but they are being actively ignorant. Not sure whom to contact now.

I just called the PG Cell, they directed me to the Commercial Officer who said he will look into it by tomorrow. If it doesn't get solved there then I will call the nodal officer.

Do update the status. Hope they will attend this time. Wait for 2 -3 days and call Nodal officer and / or Appellate authority.

Contacted Nodal Officer, even he is giving me the same BS. They supposedly checked with Bangalore office saying offer is only for limited plans.

Only option left is the consumer court. You can get the statement in writing from them and complain.

Ya, I contacted the Appelate Authority as well, he directed me to the City AGM who seems to have no idea either.

One thing that has to be found out is whether other customers have got the offer or not, since they have added the new term that offer is only available for cheaper limited plans and not on any other plans.

Here is a TRAI paper explicitly forbidding them from false advertising.

    hi essbebe

It doesn't matter if I check usage because speed right now is capped at 512.

Yes, I referred them to the site and even a pdf of their old offer which clearly said that the offer is applicable to all plans but they are not willing to listen.

    http://kerala.bsnl.co.in/MktgG/BBoffer37x.pdf

Waiver of installation charges has not been the issue yet, they have acknowledged that bit though so shouldn't be an issue.

for the first 15 days free offer ) As most were insert pictures I have to search the threads.

    Para two:

In Tamil " even if GOD gives a boon, the Pujari decides "
It is our fate, we have to deal with officials like this.

That's exactly the problem essebebe, they are not providing the speeds as promised saying that the offer is available only for LIMITED plans.

Thanks essebbe, I have tried that before and what happens is the local exchange guys calls who has no control over this matter. I have approached everyone from the Nodal Officer to the Appellate Authority without any success so I have no hopes with this form either.

First, ask them to give their stand written in a white paper. Otherwise they will simply deny it later and put the blame on you. Wait for the result of online complaint and take necessary steps. I think they will not be willing to give a written statement. I got a written reply for my complaint to Nodal officer. For this you need to sent a written complaint with receipt to Nodal officer.

Update - I called the nodal officer and asked for his office location so that I can submit the complaint in writing and strangely since today morning the speeds are showing at 2mbps!

Also did anyone notice how this page has changed - Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

New text - *This scheme is not applicable to BBG ZERO Plan.

If you look for a cached page of last few days, the new text is not there.

Oh ! Nice that they have added. Somebody might have dug the loop hole and enjoyed for 15 days.
