    1. Use IDM. Make sure that the no. of connections is 8. You can set this under

Options > Connection > Default max. conn. no

    2. Reset the modem and configure it again.

    3. Re install your download manager and check.

    4. Disable Firewall and antivirus and try.

Also, try downloading a file from a different source and check. May be an issue with the server from which you are attending the download.

Although this can be a problem with the browser/download manager you are using to download the file; most likely it's something wrong with your connection.

Any kind of severe packet loss or line drop sometimes gives a signal to your file server (the place where you are downloading from) that you have aborted the transfer.

When this happens you see the speed drops when downloading.

    This can be because :
    1) BSNL line quality is horrible (fluctuating latency/packet loss/line drops etc)
    2) Choking of your connection (because broadband is not for us indians)

Other than what I just said it's a bit hard to say much more without more information like the kind of browser, the download manager and type of file/server you are downloading.

    I use google chrome..
I have upload 2 screenshots of my speed..Sometimes speed is fast, sometimes slow.... I cant even play Mafia on facebook

This problem is happening since 4 or 5 days...
Could it be because of my modem?
Because The lights are taking a lot of time to be stable and the LINK light blinks most of the time.

I have a type II modem... What will I have to do to change it?
the last time my Type I modem was troubleshooting, i took all the parts to exchange, they tested and returned me and after 3 or 4 days a man came to my house and took the old modem and delivered the new modem!

    1. Please mention, modem - model and make.

    2. May be a line problem if it started only recently. What is the status of DSL LED ? Unless it is stable, you won't be able to connect to internet. Suspected modem complaint, try a friend's modem and check.

    3. Reset the modem and configure it again.

    4. Post your SNR and Attenuation values. Check the splitter. Replace it and check.

    5. Which plan are you using ?

    6. Are you using any download manager ? What is the speed on torrents ?

    I use google chrome.
Downloading speed is more than 250kb/s in IDM and around 250 kb/s in torrents.
The problem is suddenly websites take very long time to load..
Like just now I was playing a game on facebook and now its not loading

And please give me a link where I can learn how to reset and configure my modem.

    Just check these things

1.Do you hear noise when you talk in the landphone ?

2.Is the DSL light in the modem stable or blinking?

    3.Check the cables and wirings.

4.If possible use another modem and check if the problem persists.

5.To reset your modem look for a reset button at the back of your modem. You will need a pin and press and hold it for 15~25 seconds.(Not my suggestion)

6.Go to your browser and enter 192.168.1.1 and give user ID Password both admin.Under ADSL look for SNR and Attenuation values.

6.Another possibility some programs in ur system is trying to listen to ports.Use Netstat to see which programs are using ur bandwith.

[Once this happened to me,finally I discovered that Norton, Adobe Power Suite,C2Xv,peergurdian & SpyDoc were updating themselves every half an hour without even notifying me].

BNSL supplies a variety of modems. Unable to give link unless you mention your modem's model and make. Also answer (4) and (5).

    1.
Check here, whether your unit is listed.
    BSNL BROADBAND MAIN MENU
    2.
please give me a link where I can learn how to reset and configure my modem.
When you WANT to RESET to factory Default settings, better to go to Management Menu and BACKUP ( SAVE) current working settings , to say
    C:/My Documents/Router working
