    Question BB Dataone excess billing complaint

    I am (Dr. BSN Murthy) BSNL customer for the last 20 yrs. I am in the Home 500 Combo plan and changed to Home 625 unlimited plan. BSNL took 2 days to change the plan and they say that I have down loaded 13GB in just one day, when my son used the net for sending his job applications and they are charging me Rs. 1100/- for this, after giving me 20% discount as I am a government (unemployed) pensioner. This is really shocking. I am not able to check my BB usage as the portal is not working. When I high speed SSNL internet service with (512 kbps) 750 plan allows for unlimited download costs only 750 pm for one month, how can download by a student on a single day costs Rs.1100/ ?. When I changed back to my Home 500 Combo plan in the immediate next month, my usage went to Rs. 2436/ in one month due to day downloading alone, when I use only an Internet phone on this BB connection. Incidentally, my usage for such a facility during the last THREE years has always been Rs. 441/- per month. BSNL is adamant on reducing the bill and not providing records with sufficient proof. BSNL AO is refusing to take a complaint and suggesting me to go their head office in Kavatiguda for sorting out the problem. I am a pensioner, senior citizen and lack the energies to run through these offices to face baboos there. Suggest me what to do about this serious problem. Detailed complaint i given below:


    Excess billing complaint in respect of BB / Telephone bill nos:
    87904058 dated 06.02.2011 and 94530027 dated 06.03.2011.

    Issues:
    1. Excess billing complaint given in respect of BB / Telephone bill no: 87904058 dated 06.02.2011 regarding:

    a. Dispute about unnecessary BB deposit billed
    b. BB day usage billed while in Home 625 (free unlimited download) plan remains unresolved. Hence late fee levied on dues on unpaid bill amount is totally irrational.

    2. Only during January 2011 for a very specific purpose I opted for Home 625 plan and was in Home 500 combo for many years prior to January 2011 and I am back to Home combo 500 on 01.02.2011. In all these years, my BB usage has never been in excess of the allowed free download limit of Home 500 combo plan. This is because I am a retired and unemployed government of India servant and use internet particularly for the internet telephone. Therefore

    a. Billing for the BB day usage of Rs. 1,789.90 during February 2011 and
    b. Service tax of Rs. 225.56 levied on the above amount is totally in appropriate.
    However, I am making payment of BB / Telephone bill up to the expected limit. I request that the above issues should be resolved expressly.

    There is a issue

    There should not be any extra (daytime or nightime) charges for downloading under UL 625 plan.


    Why cant you access your portal?
    What is the error message.??

    Download a tool for network traffic recording like

    NatMAP or Networx

    Please remove your telephone no to avoid spammers getting the info.

    To do :

    1. Mention : Telecom circle and SSA

    2. Go to data.bsnl.in, log in using your 14 digit portal ID and password. If you do not have the required log in details, call your local exchange and demand the info. They keep it in their records, just 2 minute business to retrieve them.

    After log in, select " Postpaid orders ", enter the telephone no. in the prescribed format (ignore service ID or similar), hit " search order ". Now you will get a page with details of your orders like a new connection, plan change or request for a new modem. Post the screen shot here after blackening personal details.

    Since you have less than 15 posts, you are not allowed to post links. Post it as hxxp://www.domain.com instead of http://www.domain.com.

    3. BSNL portals are not reliable. Most of us use a bandwidth meter to keep and eye on the usage. You can get one from Networx or Shaplus. Please note that irrespective of the bandwidth meter you use, values in portal is final and will be used for billing details. So keep an eye on the portal.

    4. Complain here, users report prompt action

    5. Change to an unlimited plan as early as possible. Choose UL 499 or UL combo 625 or UL 750 or UL 750 Combo.

    6. If nothing works, a written complaint to Nodal officer and / or Appellate authority may work. ID and phone no on the backside of your bill. Call them and seek assistance.

    Select MY Orders .
    Find out under which tariff plan is listed.

    Example page :


    BB Home Combo UL 625 speed 256 Kbps.
    Not possible to download 13 GB in one day!!!
    256 Kbps 32 KB/sec 2MB/min 120MB/hour x 24 hours =2880MB
    24 HOURS or say 3 GB /day. or 4 to 5 days

    If still on old Home 500C plan 13 GB will need about 13to 14 hours.
    ( ideal conditions)
    ( Ideal conditions and you should be on;line H24)

    Check the usage details for Jan 2011. date wise usage
    Save in EXCEL format.

    2. January Bill paid by Feb 2011.
    The bill could include Advance Security rent for one month Rs ]625/ or This amount could be Rs 625+ 500= 1125/=)
    Check the number of telephone calls made. If Rs 1100 is exclusive
    cha)rges for BB ( security+rent+modem rent if any+ excess data d/l
    No 20%discount allowed on security)

    I opted for Home 625 plan and was in Home 500 combo for many years prior to January 2011 and I am back to Home combo 500 on 01.02.2011.
    This plan has been discontinued WEF 1st Feb 2011. NO FRESH Registrationallowed.
    Since you changed the plan in Jan 2011 lost the option
