Default Unlimited Bandwidth Packages on BSNL Broadband

Unlimited Bandwidth Packages on BSNL Broadband
As usual, I quote from the officer’s mail. The emphasis is mine.
We also are aware that there are some segment(sic) of customer for whom the unlimited plan is going to be the right choice. That’s why this case has been initiated. The details of the plan is still under deliberation and we expect it to be finalized by mid of next month.
The same will be intimated through our website, the moment it is launched. Yes, I will personally intimate you also(sic) through e-mail.
Could I have my head swelled up here? The officer himself is going to mail me back!
So now, the spelling mistakes are gone; grammatical bloopers remain. Surely, someone has read the previous posts!
I hope they make it earlier; I need the unlimited bandwidth desperately for updating through medical journals.
There are other developments too; I am restricting myself at the moment for these announcements. It’s a good feeling that my efforts have borne some fruit. Though my fingers have actually worne out tapping on the keyboard incessantly.
By the way, this mail came in after two mails were sent; the last one specifically mentioned whether there is an official dictated policy as to refuse any query from a consumer. More or less a stinker.
Once the CNN-IBN deal comes through (if at all it happens), I would DEFINITELY highlight the present impasse. BSNL remains a public organisation and these officers are public “servants”. Who died and made them God? What divine right they have to pimp their last mile access? Why can’t these officer’s be made accountable for their lapses and mental harrasment?
Tough questions but no answers forthcoming.

Any word if there is going to be any changes to the existing plans? Any drops in tariff or increase of free downloading hours or… speed (!)? I talked to 2 BSNL officials in my city, and both say that a change is definitely in the pipelines. One didn't know the nature of the change, but the other said that 'most probably the free download time is going to increase (to 8 or 10 hours)'.

After all, MTNL offers 8 hours free download time, and AirTel offers even more. From what I have heard, AirTel seems to have doubled their speeds for all existing customers, though the new speeds come in effect only in the free time (not a bad idea).

I do hope that BSNL does some thing similar. It is high time that they gave existing customers something better than the paltry 6 free hours.

BTW, is there any indication of the tariff that is going to be applied to the unlimited plan? I hope it is something reasonable.

    Hello

I am a new member of this group,I would like to know whether BSNL comes out with packages high bandwidth(say about 1 mbps) for home connections at low rates in the future. Most of the advanced countries like Israel,UK,US,Denmark are all providing 4-8mbps for home connection. It charges them about 10$ per month or slightly higher. This countries corporate connections are more than 1GBPS .Unlimited download and upload too.

Hope BSNL will also provide in the future.Let us hope for the best.

Not trying to give you false hopes but yeh wait for another 6 months the prices will come down sharply an the limits will be the thing of the past after about a year

Well in Korea one gets 100mbps download (4mbps upload) for roughly US$40/- AFAIK most of the other countries (even Sri Lanka) has rates that are far better than those offered by BSNL. Most of them offer unlimited usage too. It is a policy of `squeezing the most out of a customer', rather than giving `the most possible to a customer' that has led to the current scenerio.

Does that plan offer other services than internet in that price, like - digital tv?
