All 4 are desktops ? If no, how many laptop/ mobile ?

Please mention your modem - model and make.

You need to configure your modem in PPPoE mode. Now if you enable WiFi in your modem (if it is Type II WiFi modem), you can connect one system (say desktop) using ethernet cable (RJ45) and others using WiFi. You can also set password to your WiFi connection so that nobody else will be able to use it without entering the password.

You can check this diagram for better idea

    Teracom Type-II ADSL MODEM CONNECTION

Hope this helps. If in doubt, feel free to ask.

Presume the modem supplied by BSNl has only ONE Port.
Change to Type II wifi router, if on rental basis.

    Or buy a 4 way/8 way switch.
