Default Upgrading from type1 modem to WiFi

I have a utstarcom ut300r2u type1 modem connected to pc through LAN. Now I plan to get a get WiFi modem to use internet on pc, a notebook and a smartphone.

    1. Can I make use of my current modem in any way?

    2. Should I go for device from the market or get it from BSNL?

    3. I plan to use this router to share content between devices and stream HD movies and other media. What would be the best device for this?

    1. YES.

    BSNL usually supply a 3-in 1 model Adslmodem+4lanPort+wifi router for Rs 1800/+ Tax 10.3.% or rental Rs 80/= P.M
    see links given below:
    (b)
You will need additional wifi router to use with Ut300r2u . Price starting at say Rs 1500/= to Rs 4000/= ( example Netgear wgr614 v9 )

    3.
You should use 2 Mbps speed or min 512 Kbps tariff plan.

Thanks for the suggestions. I saw that Netgear wgr614 is type g router. I guess it would be better to have type n router.
Does BSNL give type n router? If not, then I suppose it would be better to have a type n router from market.
