Default Changed plan to 1400 and no promised speed

    Hi all,

Am posting this thread out of frustration from calling BSNL Customer Care (worst in this world)

Early jan i changed my tariff plan to 1400 which promises 4Mbps upto 25 GB and 256Kbps thereafter. The current speed i am getting is only 1.5Mbps and trying to explain this to the BSNL cust care took me almost 25calls but still in vain. They dont seem to be bothered.

Did anyone face this issue and got it resolved. Do let me know whom should i approach ?

If nothing works am going to make a anti BSNL commercial and launch it in every channel.

    Thanks in advance
    Renish

A lot of other users reported this problem. You have to complain to SDE of your exchange. Ask him to remove the cap on your connection which is set as 2 Mbps.

    4 Mbps = 4000 Kbps = 4000/8 KBps = 500 KBps

By taking 4 Mbps connection you should not get more than 500 kBps

If u are getting 1.5 MBps download speed then you are lucky...

this is where i checked.... karnataka dot bsnl dot co dot in/bandwidthmeter/initialmeter dot php

And this is what it says...

Your current bandwidth reading is: 1.53 Mbps

which means you can download at 195.2 KB/sec. from our servers.

What did you downloaded from microsoft or torrent??

If your broadband download speed is 990 Kbps = 123.75 kBps

    Kinda matches...

If this is the issue then indeed the speed cap has not been lifted ..
    Feedback.

Early Jan I changed my tariff plan to 1400 .........
Please mention the earlier tariff plan you had.
Did you get 4Mbps speed in Feb 2011? any day/time.?
    Option A:
If not contact Broadband section to change PORT
    Option B:
Still no action, complain ON LINE. to All India site.
    Option C:
Or change tariff plan Online on March 30th or 31st.
Even with a speed plan of 512Kbps you can d/l
    64KB/sec 3.6MB/min 200MB/hour approx
    ( *ideal conditions)
