    Download this file

    http://rapidshare.com/files/454328459/recycbinfix.reg

    [Note- I tested this file 5 years ago in Windows XP Sp 2.Statutory reaction is not known]
    [For future forum use-My Rapidpremium account will expire in some month I don't know what will become of my uploads If this link is not available then search for Recycle Bin registry tweak under google]

    Select slow download and afterwards double click it...

    You can take Microsoft's documentation

    How do I make the Recycle Bin appear on my desktop in Windows Vista or in Windows XP?

    To esbebe Microsoft is also offering registry tweaks...

    @axel
    User says ICON missing. You are suggesting Registry tweak.
    Please wait for a response/reply from user, to decide what procedure , he can follow easily..
    Do i have to format my PC ?
    He is asking about Format of the system.!

    @meetdilip's link/s show screen shots etc, and easy to follow .

    @pnjani
    Even if you don't have "Recycle BIN" no harm and your computer's performance is not affected. ( some hard disk space used ) All deleted files can be deleted safely later by other means also automatically.
    ( application link/s later ).

    @pnjani

    If nothing works, use Ccleaner. It has option to clean recycle bin even if it is not visible on desktop.

    Recently, I tried Ccleaner on one of my relative's PC. It has Tuneup installed and one click maintenance was occurring regularly. Still when I tried Ccleaner it removed around 200 MB files. That is why I suggested Ccleaner.

    Dear All Sirs,

    I am using Win XP SP3.

    Cc cleaner used on advise of you people and it cleans junks properly.

    The main use of recycle bin is if any file of folder accidentally deleted then i can restore them but now it is not possible as no icon of recycle bin.

    I do not want to format my PC but some one told me to do so, thats why i had mentioned earlier.

    Visited Microsoft site and find many solutions for recycle bin problem but all of them are of registry edit and thus registry edit is no my cup of tea, and hence i requested you people to find out correct solution.

    Thanks for sharing your time for my problem.

    Thanks and regards

    Pnjani windows XP and Vista is known for all the strange problems..

    But this one is antique if there is no fault in your end...

    I'm pulling everything I can to solve this...

    Create a restore point first

    Then apply the file...

    If anything goes wrong

    Restore windows...

    In your computer
    START
    RUN
    TYPE exactly including colon marks.

    OK
    repeat:
    ::{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

    Page should open. ( tried in Windows 7 Professional edition OK )
    Safe .
    No changes anywhere !

    if you have a system restore point created (as I said) there's nothing to be afraid of...

    However,
    This is my suggestion
    You can wait to confirm it from other members or you can do what I suggested

    Its completely up to you..
