    Hi,

    > I have Zyxel 645- A1 modem

The modem name is different from the usual broadband modems.

    >I have set port forward 192.168.1.33 to 80
    >192.168.1.33 to 8080
    >I have tried different port also.

What OS? Where have you done this?

    >But when i type local IP 192.168.1.33 in my browser. i can go to my default >Web page.

Is the IP of the machine which connects to the internet or is it another machine on your network? If the latter, what is the IP of the machine which connects to the internet?

    >But when i type my external IP example: 59.92.2xx.xxx it take to my Modem >username and password page.

You are getting the same result as you will if you surf to 192.168.1.1, isn't it?

Once you go into the modem by giving username and password, do you have a setting called as 'virtual servers'?

Mine is a HUAWEI SmartAX MT 822 BSNL broadband modem. There is a virtual server listing under the Advanced tab.

I have used Xitami as my server software and this uses TCP ports 2080 and 2021. What software are you using and what are the ports that you need to open?

You see, when you type your external IP what happens it comes upto the modem which is 192.168.1.1 and stops there as it is set like that. You need to change the virtual server setting inside the modem for outside connect to your webserver. At least that is how I did it.

I am not a very technical person and all this was done by trial and error after getting some pointers from the net.

    I can try to help.

    Hi,

    > Can anyone troubleshoot this ?

What I noticed after I replied to you is that if I give the external IP from my own network, it takes me to the modem page. But if somebody else gives the external IP itworks correctly and connects to the webserver.

That may be what is happening to you too. So try and get a friend to connect to your webserver.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Buddy!

I fixed it myself. I had set the port forward but it was still not working. Then i came to know that zyxel modem has filter enabled.

So i Telnet the modem and in there was filter section which was not visible in the browser interface. I offed the filter and done.

yes, you are right if we access external Ip from owr own pc it will lead to modem login page. i access my external iP in a proxy Web site.

Now i am using Remotely Anywhere to access my pc and also apache is running

    Thanks a lot for replying
