Angry BSNL 1600 Wireless ROuter 6 Lights Flashing

    Hi
My BSNL Nokia Siemens 1600 wireless router was left on for nearly 16 hours. When i saw it was flashing 6 lights "Power, DSL and 4 LAN" LED's.
    Is it dead now ?

Can any Firmware upgrade help or it is simply fried.

    1. Try resetting the modem and check.

    2. Replace the splitter and check. Alternatively you can connect to main line directly to the modem and check.

    3. Before you try any firmware upgrade, get the modem checked at BSNL exchange. You may get a replacement.

Default BSNL 1600 Wireless ROuter 6 Lights Flashing

    Thanks for offering solution

    1) I see only a power button. SO i kept it pressed for 30 seconds, and then tried connecting, but same result of lights flashing.

    2) I connected it directly, but no result. I also tried pinging 192.168.1.1 also, but no result.

3)BSNL exchange - DO they listen ? My modem is a purchase and 8 months old. Earlier also they fixed the phone line issue in more than 1 month. Anyhow I'll try talking to them.

Also i read that it could be an adaptor problem. My adaptor had got damaged earlier, this is a repurchase from market about 4 months ago for Rs150. Shall i try a new adaptor ?

If none of these don't work out, how should i do a firmware upgrade, since i am not able to ping/connect to it.

Reset button will be a small hole (similar to ventilation) on the rear side of your modem. Check closely and you will find it. When the modem is ON, press hold the switch using a pen refill for say 1 minute and check.

Borrow an adapter from a friend and check. It can be a problem.

Many users took the modem with and got it checked with the tech department at modem. You can also complain and wait for them to come to your home. But if you can go there will the modem gives you better result and you can consult other officials about the replacement. Otherwise the person who come to your home is hired by BSNL and may be his own view about replacement.

If possible, get a friend's modem at your place and check. It will confirm if it is a cable/splitter/LAN card problem. All you need is to change the user ID and password.

Can be similar to WA3002_g4 see below.
    1 :
My modem is a purchase and 8 months old.
Approach Broadband section with modem and Adapter and
try for an exchange. Don't show commercial adapter !
Usually within a year or six months of purchase both are replaced.

access hole is usually between the power socket and On OFF switch. If not see bottom side near right leg for a small round hole. Use a ball pen refill and press for about 10 to 30 seconds to set the unit to factory settings.
try to connect In "DIALER" mode.

    3 :

Access modem settings 192.168.1.1 admin admin and change your settings.

    4 :
    FIRMWARE Upgrade
how should i do a firmware upgrade,
When you access the modem post present version.
you want to try this without confirming your modem/router is faulty. Not recommended.

    5.

Power rating of replacement adapter should be same.
    Voltage and current .
