Default Breaking News Bsnl Broadband subscribers

To promote broadband services, country’s largest telecommunication company with more than 60% market share in broadband segment, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced that it will offer Static IP on request with broadband plans with additional charges.
Right now all plans have dynamic IP, meaning you get IP allocated dynamically whenever you connect next, so every time it changes when you reconnect your net but in case of static IP one IP will remain static to your connection and it will remain thesame even if you re connect yournet next time.
The static IP will be allocated ONLY to you.
Broadband Plans (limited/unlimited) with Fixed Monthly Charge of Rs. 1000 and above but less than Rs. 1500 have to pay additional charges Rs. 2000 yearly to obtain Static IP.
Broadband Plans (limited/unlimited) with Fixed Monthly Charge of Rs. 1500 and above but less than Rs. 2799 willhave to pay additional charges of Rs. 1800 yearly to obtain static IP.
One has to give separate written request to the local exchange to attain the same.

No use for domestic customers. I will not take it even if it is free. A curse for those who download from one click hosting sites. Rate is also not cheap.

Thanks for the info. Rep added.

Static Ip is only useful with VPNs and gaming.

I aint' spending anything to change it...

Static IP doesn't give any advantage for my use... So, Nope...

    More speed for Less cost

    OR

    More speed for current rate

    OR

Extending the Download or Upload limit are appreciated.... But it'll take a while. Just now they increased speed of some plans... Like 2mbps to 4mbps...

I expect bsnl to reduce cost and increase speed of braodband.

2 mbps unlimited for 750-900 rupees per month(without FUP)

see other countries developed lot in broadband.here only two providers both are waste.

Talking Fixed Line Broad Band FUP war is just starting in USA!

In USA people get around 250 Gb (mostly unlimited) in their ADSL BB.
Recently Netflix became a stock market darling streaming videos ( thro the free band width provided to the consumer by the fixed line telcom like ATT or Comcast.)
Now telcos are cutting netflix's business model by restricting download Gb on the consumer or charging for it. Expect FUP from 250GB(Comcast) to 100 or below.
Already in Canada Netflix has introduced less quality streaming ( 50% usual band width ).Netflix files a caveat with stock exchange on this threat to the business model!!
So FUP in ADSL/Cable broad band is getting entrenched.

Doesn't help you anything. Copyright owner calls your ISP saying
this IP at this time and your ISP says that house, and you're screwd...

Helps me in other sense is what I was saying. Dynamic IP means that I am not restricted by free download per IP limit.

That won't happen in BSNL static Ip either...See in the last post I said what should happen not necessarily what will happen...As it takes 10 hour to detect from where a terrorist email has come...BSNL is slow from every possible aspect.

That's why India is really a free country...

Perhaps we cant take a conversion and feel it costly. for US citizens $90 may be cheap enough.
