    Default Please Help me in this regard.....

    I have 2 systems with BSNL Broadband unlimited plan....

    i want to connect 2 systems in lan in this way....

    1. i have connected the modem with usb to 1 system....

    2. i have connected the system1 ethernet to system 2 ethernet.....

    3. the 2 systems are connected...

    4. the folder sharing is possible but the net can't acceceble....

    questions :

    1. whether i.p. should be give or not....

    2. what settings should i do..... to connect the systems....

    3. and what is the best software for remote desktop sharing....

    Team Viewer is the best for remote support.

    Mention modem - model and make

    To do :

    1. Configure your modem in PPPoE mode.

    2. Enable DHCP in your modem.

    3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection (on both machines), set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

    If your modem has more than one ethernet ports, try them. USB connection is not the best of the modes to connect multiple PCs.

    My modem model is UT300R2U

    Make is UTSTARCOM

    1. My modem is already configured in PPPoE mode....

    2. how to get 192.168.1.1 screen to enable DHCP,,, please tell me briefly.....

    3. Both are in Windows XP SP2.....

    START RUN type cmd
    OK
    New window;
    type ipconfig /all
    The default gateway will be 192.168.1.1
    Type it in browser
    User Id admin PW admin
    DHCP enabled in LAN menu page )

    @prasadg2007
    Maybe you forgot to enable the NAT service in your Modem. Use static IP and use gateway 192.168.1.1 and same with prefer DNS.
