Hi,
I have the Huawei MT841 modem which has 4 ethernet ports, 1 usb and 1 wireless port. But, I dont have the wireless card that comes with the modem. And the BSNL guys say that it is out of stock from past 6 months.
So, I'm planning to purchase Linksys wireless access point WAP54G. I'm not sure how to use it and whether it will work with MT841. But some document in the internet mentioned I could use it.
Can anyone provide info?
For wireless connectivity, is the wireless access point enough? or should i go for a wireless router only?
Details:
Huawei MT841 modem, given by BSNL, having 4 ethernet ports, 1 wifi port
Laptop - IBM Thinkpad T40. It has an 2 WLAN adapters
1. internal Cisco PCI WLAN adapter
2. external pluggable Linksys WPC54G WLAN adapter
Any info would be of great help

That is the reason I have started exploring other options. If a Wireless AP can be connected to MT841 and it works, I would be more than willing to purchase the AP than go for a new wirelss router (which replaces MT841), as I believe, the wireless AP is cheaper
