I just got a BSNL broadband connection and it works just fine with my laptop. Unfortunately, my laptop went bust and i tried connecting my modem/ router to my desktop pc (windows XP sp2) which as it turns out does not have an ethernet card. I checked the modem box, but the BSNL guy who came to set up my connection probably took away the installation cd (i should have checked it at the time, stupid of me.) The problem is, i tried downloading the driver files from the manufacturer's website, tried the drivers for this model available from all possible sources, but i get the same error, everytime i start devmgmt.msc, and try installing the driver manually it says that there are compatible drivers for your hardware in the specified location...or something on those lines...any ideas if i could get a self extracting installer ar any other way to solve this issue. would be really thankful if someone's got the manufacturer's driver cd and they could upload an image of the same.
