Thread: aDSL MODEM SETUP

Hi,
I have bought a new asus n11 modem can any body tell me the settings for the same for bsnl 750+
1)by which I can connect multiple comp at a time

You need to set VPI/VCI as 0 -35. Enter ID as username (instead of username@bsnl.in).

To use for more than one system at a time,

1. Configure your modem in PPPoE mode.

2. Enable DHCP in your modem.

3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection (all machines), set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

yes now I went to QIS page but the problem is after the entire setup it was asking for a static or dynamic IP
it took all the settings automatically they all looked ok as u all told me

with PPO E can I connect all my computers at the same time or will I have t setup bridge to go to internet at the same time I possible can u tell me a video on youtube or any other website to know the basics of setting of modem (to know what all the connection means) a book will also do

When you set your Modem in PPPoE mode
it means you store/enter your ISP UserId PW in the wan page of the modem.
This is needed when you want to connect desktop /laptop/phone etc .

2. Enable DHCP in your modem.

Then DHCP is enabled in the modem, and allots IP address to each system

Back up settings. of modem & wifi router. . to your hard disk.

Check the manufacturer's web site for user manual.

Mention any adsl modem in use supplied by BSNL>

Congrats. Try to back up present working settings to say
C:/My Documents/asus modem working.
