As said my meetdilip your line is completely capable of handling 4MBps data rate. Make sure your computer dose not have any speed cap software install or something like this. If your side is completely OK then BSNL need to reapply the plan for you to giving your BB to affect the correct speed. As your father works in BSNL then I don't think it will take your much time for the correction.

Definitely something wrong at BSNL end. Did you try the link in my previous post ? If that too fails, try talking to JTO or SDE about the issue.

On my business plan,i have a 4 mbps business plan. But thats true..i cant have that kind of speed.first of all i wana tell you one thing that if any company claims you tht they are providing 2mbps or any speed, that mean this is the highest speed you may get.your average speed will be different.

change mtu value to 1492. MSS to 1360. both default also should work.
mention your modem/make model. appears TP link or beetel 110TCI group.
    Feedback.

Just download Ubuntu. I'll try to get it.
And you can now search for similar images by using that image. All you need is save that image and drag it to the google search images box

Really I know it's maximum. But for me the max is 512Kbps, then why did I change the plan? for adding the FUP of 8GB?!
No one would pay extra cash for adding FUP.

It is just theory. If you line conditions are good, you will get almost the same speed as promised one. Many users have reported speed of around 240 KBps with Home 500 Combo and similar. I am using UL 750 and get around 64 KBps most of the time. It just affects you if you are a bit too far from exchange or have a very bad line which was laid years ago.

Ok I know that. And my 8GB limit has been exceeded. Please post any solutions next month. For this month I'm switching back to UL750. Actually the described speed doesn't matter, It's only approximate. Although they say that it's maximum there are some times you get beyond maximum. On some occasions when I was in NIB-I I was getting 0.76Mbps to 0.89Mbps. Everything was spoiled when BSNL switched to NIB-II.

NIB II is not bad, in fact according to reports, it is better than NIB I. I am on NIB II since beginning, no unpleasant experience so far. But there are some cases where the NIB change has caused problem to users, it is actually fault by staff than the system.

Is there any way to cap all of the connections from one exchange to 512Kbps. I think every house in this locality without regarding the plan are experiencing only 512Kbps. What can I do if that is the problem? I again noticed this because now BSNL has upgraded the speeds of ULD 750 to 1Mbps upto 6GB, but still I'm experiencing accurate 512Kbps(No fluctuations).

Just tell him that you're getting lower than sanctioned speed for your plan and instead of speedtest use BSNL speedtest (Google it).

I am Using BSNL they provides the worst service. I have 4 mbps connection I have just got connected with BSNL 1 & a half months back and They are not providing proper speed. I am not even able to open Gmail. I try calling several time at 1500 & 1504 but there is no response as usual. No one picks up the ph out there. I have to wait for 15 minutes to reach the cus care exe. but after that the call gets disconnected. I have been in contact with more than 10 people regarding this problem but All the time they use to say it will be done, it will be rectified.
They are not providing appropriate services to the consumers. As this is a government service we CANNOT DO ANYTHING. If I not pay the bill they will not take more than one day to disconnect the service and what else when the consumer is not getting the service then why he has to pay the bills. I have requested several times to the BSNL officers but no response all the time. It is so much IRRITATING I want to sue them but cant do anything because that process is again related to the govt.

I MUST SAY INDIANS HAVN'T GOT FREEDOM YET
