BSNL BroadBand Cheat Customer Again

I connect internet and check E-Mail 3 to 5 mails are in text only and BroadBand Utilized over 15 to 25 MB in 10 Minutes. I was downloaded 30 MB file Size and see internet utilized is 90 MB how was it possible the BSNL cheat with every one, in surat my friends are also getting this type of problem. At the time to go BSNL all over INDIA Centralized Billing from Pune, And it comes bulk complaints form customers like over billing, NET too many BB usage bills, regenerate annual amount, Late receiving Bills after 1 months and Charged over DUE date Late Payment Also or many other complaints from bsnl customers.
I was facing this type of problems in SURAT region.

(a)
Check your usage locally with NetworX for a single system.

(compare with BSNL meter reading for a day or two for accuracy. )

Ensure that applications appearing in Taskbar do not have auto Update
option.
(c)
If you use WIFI router use security key or use MAC filter.

(d)
Better to change to an Unlimited plan, if you suspect "foulplay"
anywhere in your broadband connection.

i agree that BSNL service sucks but this sort of problem never happen,
if excess usage,its always in bulk
if you are sure that you used 30 mb instead of 90 mb,just use Shaplas or Networx and keep a tab
even i don't trust the Bsnl portal but in your case as the excess usage is very low i think some other programs may be downloading some files

1. Use a good firewall. I use one from Zonealarm (free edition).

2. Check whether there is any background downloads (you can see the programs accessing net on firewall).

3. If your PC is infected in some way, it can cause some unaccounted usage.

4. Use a good bandwidth meter, one from Networx or Shaplus will be good.

I am computer Engineer and I know very well about firewall, antivirus some mallware, adware & spam in PC so please no treat me like that.

I was facing this type of problems in SURAT region.

But members/users like me give technical information/ feedback data for other "EXPERTS" like you to solve/advise/ with solutions to broadband related problems. and pick up some knowledge/know how also !!!

(1) You have not mentioned any details about your usage meter readings..
does it happen daily, or only for single day.
If your system/setup is PERFECT ( bound to be ), better to switch to another ISP.
Even Consumer council cannot take up your complaint without sufficient data.

your complaint is :
(a)wrong usage meter at BSNL end .
(b) bill delay/ late payment charges.

for (a)
reading by BSNL usage meters is final. ( they record MAC address also )
Worst case scenerio: FREE NU counted with normal data usage.
In Feb 2011 selfcareportal.wdc.bsnl.co.in reported some problem/s
and hope they are rectified now.

Give details of running processes when you start the computer.

for (b)
give the mode of payment/ details of late fee payment charged etc.
Is it regular every month or for a single month.
This can be easily solved by the A.O and credit given in future bills.

(c) Using Large fonts considered "Shouting" and against Forum etiquette
and hope as a Computer nerd. you know it.

Please avoid repeating same matter again. and edit your post at No 5.

(d) Better to change to Unlimited plan.

when I saw how this guy signed his name in the post, I could not resist this dig.
I swear hence forth ,I will write my name myself with "Sir" and "Ji" here afterwards.

I have a suspicion "porn" and resident "Virus" actively communicate moment interent signal is on and eat his "Mb"

Since "Bhagat Ji" is a self proclaimed expert,
First
He has to cleanse his computer with "anti virus-ganga water" to rid of any "malware " sins
and restrict the no of programs in his "start menu"/ Auto update.

1. Do you have a automatic Windows &/or antivirus /other updates running?

2.For starters do a one hour demo while networx software (search in Google) is running Compare what networx says and BSNL portal says.

If two meter readings have a huge difference then somethings fishy.

P.S. I was having a cup of coffee when I read ur post, sabkuch muh se gir gaya.

Just now I downloaded Zone alarm and Networx.

My current Note book Acer 5320 (HK bought 2.5 yrs old) came with Original Vista which crashed while up dating a year back (no CD).
Later a local guy "fixed" with Win 7 + Micro soft security soft ware .
So no other anti virus installed so far.
Some times I dis able any Anti virus running in the back ground when I open my Broker API during market hours ( no browser opened .Just chart cum trading station) ( so that it does not slow my trading app)

Yesterday I downloaded few guitar songs as well from your mentioned down load site.

I just have 2008/9/10 hit tamil and Hindi songs and "rudram" like sanskrit slokas in my note book hard drive and listern wide variety of western music thro net radio.

Normally I listen "Flamenco Spanish Guitar / "New orleans jazz"/ Beethoven thro win amp /shout cast Internet radio when I work .
