Default DSL or Link Light blinking in 2 rounds.

    Hi,

I have a Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600. Previously I had a Type I modem where in the Link light used to blink at a steady pace for some time before becoming steady and stable.

Now that I have upgraded to the Type II Wireless Modem, The Link or DSL Light on the Modem keeps blink at a steady pace and then blinks fast and the whole process is repeated for a second time before the Link becomes steady.

The deviation from the Blinking pattern in Type I to the different blinking pattern in Type II, is because of the change in Modem Type ??

    Please Advice.

Are you facing any connection problems ? Me too have a WiFi modem. It just blinks continuously and then get stable. Ignore the change in pattern if it not causing any trouble. May be due to some error at exchange.

I am not facing any connection problems. But if I reset the modem, the link of the modem, blinks at a steady pace end then becomes stable. But once any configuration is done on the modem and is set to connect automatically, this pattern is observed.

    Thanks

If possible, get a friend's modem and check using your ID and password. This will clear if it is a line issue or has something wrong with the modem.

    Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600.
But if I reset the modem
Presume restarting the modem. Not pressing the RESET button
    .
    IF it works don't repair!
Back up present modem settings to say C:/My Documents/NSR1600 working.
See wa3002_g4 link below. for screenshots etc. ( similar unit )
    Lamp Indication:

Power : Power LED will glow as soon as you switch on the modem.
DSL: DSL LED will blink first and then settle permanently in yellow, if the connectivity between the modem and the exchange broadband equipment is perfect and established.
Internet: Internet LED will glow when you are connected to the internet.
WLAN: WLAN LED will glow if wireless is enabled in your modem.

If the connectivity between your modem and computer is OK, two LEDs on either side of the LAN socket will glow in the back panel of your modem.

It is an indicator that there is data transfer. May be the LED died. Same in my modem, LED for WiFi not working. But WiFi is getting connected without any problem.

But there is no USB port in modem
Unable to find the reason as modems usually have 4 or 5 LED's
( One will be for USB Port)

Earlier 220BXI had an USB PORT led

    MY 110BXI has power/link/Data/PC 4 0nly.

another 110TCI same as above. ( both being used )

    another Mt880 ( Airtel) has 5 leds
power/ ADSL ( linK ACT) LAN ( link ACT)
Link ADSL does not glow and No connection possible.

Your model may have additional leds for LAN ports/ wireless..
    give description for each LED.
    see picture:

If there is no problem, better to ignore.
