Hello guys!! You people are doing a great job here. I have been reading this threads since last few days looking for a solution to my problem.
Like so many users I too was enjoying BSNL mobile 3G broadband for the last 1 year or so. Now because of the new situation I am forced to go for a broadband connection. After going through the BB plans available I thought and decided BB would be the best option for me (no other ISP available in my area). I applied for this through BSNL udaan site on 22 last month i.e; 22 march. Same day I got a call from a BSNL guy and we went through the procedure. He made me fill 2 forms, one for LL and another for BB and collected all the relevant documents and promised that the connection would be provided to me within a week, at the most. By the evening he provided me my LL number and other details and asked me to visit the Local exchange of my area. When I visited the exchange they told me since I had applied through the site and also by paper application 2 numbers were generated and one needs to be canceled and it would take a day or 2. After 2 days I again visited the exchange. This time they said they dont have the wires and instruments in there store and asked for 1-2 days more. After 3 days when I again visit they has the same story to tell. I even said that if it is going to take a long time they can inform. I will go for other options. Well I was shocked to hear the answer from the SDE. He in fact tells that he advices everybody to go for other ISPs and telecomss rather then BSNL and I should do that too. I was getting frustrated so I called the BSNL agent who took the documents from me. They said that the SDE of my exchange doesnt want to do any work and provided me a number of the regional engineer advising that he can make the SDE work. But even calling him didnt work. He then Provided me the number of the Regional DGM. I called on that number continuously for 9 days and on some days left messages. Everyday I got a call from the regional DGM's office taking a complaint and the LL number generated for me and assured me that the connection would be done today i.e; the days I called them. No result till date. Meanwhile last Friday I got a call from the SDE telling that he is sending someone to install the line. Whole days passed, Saturday passed and on monday I again called SDE. He says because of sunday in the between the work could not be done and DC abruptly. Same day in the evening I called the Exchange and someone from the other side tells "time toh lagega bhaiyya". I said how much and he say expect it to be done on Wednesday. Today, wednesday I went again to the exchange and this time SDE sends a guy to check the distance of my house from the telephone pole. He reported it to be around 170 m. The SDE was shocked and said BB cannot run on that line (because of the distance). He was saying the wires would break and I would face problems everyday and would bother them because of that. He asked me to wait for 2-3 days more for thicker cables to arrive.(Incidentally few days ago he had told someone that he can provide a connection same day if it requires 200-250 m of wires). I came back and checked the distance and I found it to be of around 160 "feet" or less then 50 m. I returned back and corrected the distance. He again said even in that case the connection cannot be given. Well I know he was clearly avoiding because he was telling that if the connection was only for LL he could have got it done but note in case of BB.
Now is there anyone who can help me?
Is it really an issue the distance from pole?
My house is only 500 m from the exchange.
Is there really something called thick cables? I thought BSNL used only one type of wires for the connection.
I even tried to call the Nodal officer and they said even they cant do much except requesting the same regional Engineer whom I too had called.
Help me please.
